BTech in Engineering Science is an undergraduate program with duration of four years, in these four years this field covers many disciplines such as mechanical, electrical, computer, materials, and civil engineering, along with core sciences like physics and chemistry. It focuses on the aspects of engineering and physical sciences. It enhances the problem-solving skills in students.
Applicants must have a 10+2 certificate with core subjects in math, physics, and chemistry and an overall grade point average of 60% in these disciplines in order to apply for a B.Tech in Engineering Science. Some private colleges only accept 50 to 60 percent, while others, like IITs, want 75 percent. According to government guidelines, the SC, ST, OBC, and PwD reserved categories receive a 5–6% relaxation. Many institutions base their admissions decisions on candidates' performance on national entrance tests, like as JEE Main and JEE Advanced. This program also offers examinations at the state and university levels, such as BITSAT, VITEEE, SRMJEEE (university level exam), WBJEE, MHT CET, TNEA, and KEAM (state level exam).
The fee of a B.Tech in Engineering Science can vary greatly depending on the student's desired institution; for example, tuition at public universities is usually less expensive than that at private ones. Private college prices vary by state and institution and range from INR 2,00,000 to INR 4,00,000 (yearly) for the duration of the degree, whereas IIT fees range from INR 2,00,000 to INR 2,50,000 (yearly).
B.Tech Engineering Sciences professionals can find a job in sectors like Core Engineering & Manufacturing, Technology & IT Companies, R&D , Scientific Organizations, Consulting & Analytics, and merging Tech & Startups. Job profiles they can opt for are Design Engineer, Systems Engineer, R&D Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, Research Scientist, Scientific Officer, Technical Assistant, Business Analyst, Data Scientist, Strategy Consultant, Operations Analyst, Product Developer, Embedded Systems Engineer, Mechatronics Engineer, AI/ML Engineer, and Innovation Engineer.
