The Directorate of Medical Education in Tamil Nadu handles the admission process for GNM Nursing. • Those with a vocational ANM or Health Care Science in Class 12, who score at least 40%, can take part in the admission process.
• Students must be 17 as of December 31 in the year they want to apply.
• Candidates are only allowed to apply if they have permanent residence in Tamil Nadu.
• If a student is not a permanent resident, they must finish Classes 10 and 12 at a recognised school in Tamil Nadu, or one parent must have permanent residency.
• Students must be medically fit to be admitted to the GNM course.
• Admission is usually based on merit in qualifying exams; there is no separate entrance exam for the Tamil Nadu GNM Nursing course.
• Students with a pass mark in the Registered ANMs can submit their application.
