MBA Marketing Management Admission Process 2026

Admission to the MBA programme (with Marketing as an elective specialization) at IIM Ahmedabad is competitive but follows a clear and well-structured process. The institute admits students through the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted at the national level.

 

Step 1: Students are supposed to visit the official CAT site at iimcat.ac.in. They are advised to complete the online application form and attach all the needed documents that include academic records, a photograph and a signature.

 

Step 2: Once the application is received then students are able to download the CAT admit card available on the site. The admit card will have the details of the exam and the test centre address.

 

Step 3: The students are required to appear CAT exam on the set day. It is a computerized test that is administered in different centres in India. The test will consist of the section of Quantitative Aptitude, Verbal Ability, Logical Reasoning, and Data Interpretation.

 

Step 4: Results CAT are announced online. All students have the freedom to log on the official CAT site and download their scorecard, which indicates overall and sectional percentile.

 

Step 5: IIM Ahmedabad shortlists the chosen students based on their CAT score, academic credentials, work experience and others. They can then be called to take the Analytical Writing Test (AWT) and Personal Interview (PI). It is a component of the second phase of the evaluation.

 

Step 6: Selection is a final process which depends on the total performance in CAT, AWT, PI as well as the past academic performance, work experience and diversity. The students have an option of getting to know their final selection status online and they will also receive an offer letter by email in case of selection.

 

Step 7: Selected students must report to IIM Ahmedabad on the specified date. They are required to bring original documents along with the admission offer letter. After document verification, students must pay the admission fee to confirm and secure their seat in the MBA programme.
