CLAT Eligibility Criteria 2026: The Consortium of National Law Universities is going to prescribe the CLAT Eligibility 2026. The eligibility criteria for CLAT 2026 will be released on the official website at consortiumofnlus.ac.in. CLAT UG Eligibility Criteria 2026 and CLAT PG Eligibility Criteria 2026 will be prescribed in the official notification. The eligibility criteria for the Common Law Admission Test 2026 includes the requirements in educational qualification, minimum marks, age limit, nationality, etc.

According to the CLAT 2026 Eligibility Criteria, candidates must’ve passed their 10+2 or equivalent qualification with at least 45% marks from a recognised university. Candidates who have passed Class 10+2 or have appeared for the higher secondary exam in April/May 2026 are eligible to apply for the CLAT UG 2026 exam. For CLAT PG 2026, candidates must have completed their bachelor’s in law field by April/May 2026 are eligible. There is no age limit for applying for the CLAT 2026 Examination. Indian nationals, as well as Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), and Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), are eligible to apply.

CLAT UG Eligibility Criteria 2026

For CLAT UG 2026, aspirants must’ve completed their 10+2 or equivalent examination by April/May 2026. General category candidates must’ve passed their higher secondary examination with at least 45% marks, whereas SC/ST/PwD candidates need a minimum of 40% marks. Those test takers appearing for the qualifying exam in 2026 are also eligible to apply, however, they must submit proof of passing at the time of admission at NLU. CLAT PG Eligibility Criteria 2026

For CLAT PG 2026, aspirants need to hold an LLB Degree or an equivalent qualification from a recognised university. Candidates belonging to general/OBC/NRI need a minimum of 50% marks, whereas SC/ST/PwD candidates must have at least 45% marks. Final year LLB students appearing in 2026 are also eligible to apply, but need to submit proof of qualification at the time of admission. CLAT Eligibility Criteria 2026 for NRI/OCI/PIO/Foreign Nationals

NRI, OCI, and PIO candidates are eligible to apply for the CLAT 2026 exam. These candidates need to appear for the CLAT exam and obtain a valid score to secure a seat in any NLU Campuses across India. After the exam, these students should apply separately to the NLUs for their choice. Each NLU Campuses have their own admission procedures and seat availability for NRI and foreign candidates. Candidates must also meet the NRI Sponsorship Criteria, if applying under that category. Foreign nationals do not need to appear for CLAT but must contact NLUs directly. During the admission time, NRI candidates are required to submit specific documents. Those documents must be submitted in their prescribed size and format. CLAT Age Limit 2026

There is no upper or lower age limit for candidates applying to CLAT UG or PG 2026. Any candidate meeting the education and nationality requirements can apply regardless of their age. Candidates should focus on meeting the academic qualifications and submitting required documents. Age is not a restricting factor for either undergraduate or postgraduate CLAT programs. Therefore, aspirants of any age, meeting the required CLAT Eligibility Criteria 2026, are eligible to appear in the Common Law Admission Test 2026.

 

CLAT Nationality 2026

CLAT 2026 is open to both Indian nationals as well as international candidates. Indian nationals, NRIs, OCIs, and PIOs are all eligible to apply for the CLAT exam. NRI and OCI/PIO candidates must follow the CLAT admission process and meet the required criteria. Foreign nationals do not have to appear for CLAT 2026, instead, they must contact the NLUs directly for the admission procedure. Each NLU may set its own admission and reservation policies for international students.

 

CLAT Seat Intake 2026

Each NLUs have their own reservation of seat intake. The seat intake for UG and PG programs through CLAT 2026 scores differs from one another. NLSIU Bengaluru has reserved 310 and 100 seat intake for UG and PG programs, respectively. Whereas NLU Jodhpur has reserved 120 seats for UG and 50 seats for PG program. A total of 3,511 seats are available for UG intake and 1,271 seats for PG intake, excluding supernumerary, NRI, extra, and FN seats.
