CPNET 2025 Eligibility Criteria are set by the exam conducting bodies, i.e., Uttar Pradesh University of Medical Sciences (UPUMS). The eligibility criteria are the minimum qualifications required to appear for the CPNET exam 2025. Students who fulfil the minimum eligibility requirements will be allowed to sit for the exam and be admitted into various Nursing, Paramedical and Pharmacy courses across Uttar Pradesh. 

 

To be eligible for CPNET 2025, candidates must pass the 12th standard exam with Science subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Mathematics) and English subjects from a recognised board. They must also secure a minimum of 45% marks (for general students) in their 10+2 exams. Apart from the educational qualification, the authorities also set criteria for the candidates’ age and domicility. 

 

The authorities have yet to announce the official notification for CPNET 2025. However, the application process for this exam is expected to begin by the end of June 2025. Hence, all candidates are advised to review the eligibility criteria and check whether they are eligible for this exam.

The exam of CPNET 2025 is conducted once a year, in the offline mode. Candidates who qualify for this exam get into various Paramedical, Pharmacy and Nursing programs in reputed colleges of Uttar Pradesh.   • Candidates must be citizens of India.
  • The exam is conducted at the state level. So, students are required to be citizens of Uttar Pradesh. 
  • The minimum educational qualification required is to have passed the 10+2 exams with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Mathematics, and English subjects. 
  • The minimum age limit to apply for CPNET 2025 is 17 years, as of 31st December, 2025. 

 

CPNET 2025 Eligibility Criteria: Course-wise

The UPUMS CPNET 2025 Eligibility Criteria differ based on the courses students opt to pursue. The minimum educational qualification required for the BSc Nursing program is to have cleared the 12th examinations with at least 45% marks for the general category students. However, for admission into the GNM course, the minimum passing marks required for the reserved category students are 40%. Candidates must secure at least 50% marks (general) and 45% marks (SC/ ST) in their 12th board exams. Also, they must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology as main subjects. 

BSc Nursing

Students should have completed their 10+2 exams with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with at least 45% marks (general) and 40%(SC/ ST). Students who have passed from NIOS and Uttar Pradesh Govt recognised schools with Science subjects and English are also considered eligible. 

BPharm

Must have cleared the intermediate examination or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Mathematics, and English as main subjects. 

GNM

Should have passed 12th board exams or equivalent with at least 40% marks (for general) and 35% marks (SC/ ST)

ANM

Must have completed an intermediate level of education or equivalent to 10+2 are also considered eligible. 

DOT/ DOptom/ DPT/ DDT/ DCT/ DMRI/ DETCT/ DBT

Should have completed the 12th standard exams with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Mathematics. 

 

CPNET 2025 Eligibility Criteria: Age Limit

Apart from the educational qualification, students are also required to fulfil the minimum and maximum age limits. Given below is the detailed age criterion to be eligible for CPNET 2025:

  • The minimum age limit for all the candidates is 17 years as of 31st December of the year of admission. 
  • Students who are younger than 17 years of age will not be considered for admission. 
  • The maximum age limit for the GNM course is 35 years. Students must note that they should attain the age of 35 before 31st December 2025. 
  • To be eligible for the ANM course, female candidates’ age should not exceed 30 years. Even students who have turned 31 before 31st December 2025 are considered eligible. 

 

CPNET 2025 Eligibility Criteria: Domicile Criteria

As per the CPNET 2025 Eligibility Criteria PDF, students must fulfil the domicile criteria set by the authorities. Find out the domicile criteria that are required to be fulfilled to be eligible for CPNET 2025:

  • Candidates must be residents or domiciled in Uttar Pradesh.
  • Students who have completed their 10+2, intermediate, or equivalent examination from Uttar Pradesh will not be required to submit their domicile certificates at the time of form filling or counselling. 
  • Suppose candidates have passed their 12th standard or intermediate examination from outside Uttar Pradesh. In that case, the candidate will have to present their domicile certificate to prove they are a Uttar Pradesh citizen.
  • For admission to the ANM (Auxiliary Nurse and Midwifery) course, only female candidates can apply.

CPNET 2025 Eligibility Criteria: Reservation Policy

As per the Uttar Pradesh State Government Directives, a reservation policy is followed by the authorities of UPUMS for CPNET 2025. This policy allocates a specific number of seats for reserved categories like SC, ST, and OBC candidates. Along with this, dependents of freedom fighters, ex-soldiers’ sons and daughters, and physically disabled candidates also get some provisions.
