UCEED 2026 Counselling is ongoing, and it has now entered its final and most crucial stage. The Round 5 seat allotment was released on July 9, 2026, on the official website, and allotted candidates must pay the seat acceptance fee by July 13, 2026, at 6:00 PM to confirm their seats. This is the last of the five counselling rounds conducted by IIT Bombay. The seat acceptance fee is INR 60,000 for GEN/EWS/OBC-NCL candidates and INR 15,000 for SC/ST/PwD candidates. Seat allotment is based on UCEED 2026 scores and campus preferences submitted by candidates. Since Round 5 is the final round, candidates must act promptly, as no withdrawal or float options remain after this stage.

UCEED Exam 2026: Highlights

The Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design, or UCEED Entrance Exam 2026, is a national-level design entrance exam. The exam is conducted by IIT Bombay for B.Des admission at seven IITs. The UCEED entrance exam is conducted once every year in online mode. Last year, over 15,408 students registered for the exam while 13,500 students appeared for the exam, and 5,703 candidates qualified. UCEED 2026 Counselling

UCEED Counselling 2026 is being conducted by IIT Bombay for admission to the BDes courses offered through the UCEED entrance exam. The Counselling Process for UCEED 2026 started on April 21, 2026. To take part in the counselling, candidates have to fill out the BDes application form on the UCEED admission portal. IIT Bombay released the common application form and is also conducting the joint seat allotment process for participating institutes. At present, UCEED Round 5 seat allotment is ongoing.

 

UCEED 2026 Seat Allotment Process

Given below is the detailed process for UCEED 2026 Counselling:

  • Candidates must pay the seat acceptance fee before the given deadline.
  • The counselling application fee for BDes admission is INR 4,000 for all candidates. This fee is non-refundable and cannot be transferred.
  • If the fee is not paid on time, the allotted seat will be cancelled.
  • In such cases, the candidate will not be considered for the next round of seat allotment.
  • The cancelled seat will be offered to another eligible candidate in the following rounds.
  • If a candidate gets their first-choice institute, they can either accept (freeze) the seat or decline it.
  • If the candidate declines the seat, the current allotment will be cancelled.
  • Candidates who decline their first-choice seat will also not be considered for the next rounds of counselling.

 

UCEED 2026 BDes Seat Matrix

The table below shows the total number of BDes seats available at participating institutes through UCEED 2026. A total of 245 seats are available across 7 institutes. Among them, IIITDM Jabalpur has the highest intake with 66 seats, followed by IIT Guwahati with 56 seats and IIT Bombay with 37 seats.

 

UCEED 2026 Cutoff

IIT Bombay has released the UCEED 2026 Part A cutoff marks in category-wise and it is based on the mean and standard deviation. Only candidates who meet the Part A cutoff will have their Part B answer booklets evaluated. The mean deviation for the Part A UCEED 2026 exam is 70.86, and the standard deviation for the Part A UCEED 2026 exam is 25.77. Shortlisted candidates will be ranked, and those with higher ranks will have better chances during seat allotment. If a candidate fails in Part B, they will not be shortlisted or assigned a rank. The evaluation of Part B is manual, and IIT Bombay does not provide evaluated answer booklets to candidates.

UCEED 2026 Result was announced by IIT Bombay on March 6, 2026, for candidates who appeared in the UCEED entrance exam for BDes admission. The UCEED Result 2026 is available online on the official admission portal, and candidates can check it by logging in with their registered email ID and password. The UCEED 2026 scorecard has been available for download since March 10, 2026, and candidates can download it till July 31, 2026. Candidates who are shortlisted in the UCEED 2026 Result are given an All India Rank. However, getting a rank in UCEED Result 2026 does not guarantee admission to the BDes program.

Candidates can follow these steps to check the UCEED Result 2026:

  • Visit the official UCEED 2026 admission portal.
  • Click on the UCEED 2026 Result link.
  • Enter your registered email ID and password.
  • After login, the UCEED Result 2026 will appear on the screen.
  • Download the result and take a printout for future use.

Candidates can follow the same steps to download the scorecard. The UCEED 2026 scorecard will remain valid for one year from the date of issue.

UCEED 2026 Answer Key

UCEED 2026 Provisional Answer Key was released on January 19, 2026, along with the question paper. The answer key contains the official answers to the questions asked in the exam. Candidates can use the answer key to calculate their probable scores before the UCEED 2026 Result is declared. They were also allowed to submit objections against the draft answer key by January 22, 2026 (till 5 pm), with proper justification and proof. The UCEED Final Answer Key 2026 was released after considering all valid objections on January 28, 2026.

UCEED 2026 Eligibility Criteria

To appear for UCEED 2026, candidates must meet specific eligibility requirements related to age, academic qualifications, and examination attempts. The candidate should have passed their Class 12 or equivalent exam in 2025 or 2026 from any stream like Science, Commerce, or Arts. Candidates who first appeared for the qualifying exam in 2024 or earlier are not eligible. UCEED 2026 Registration

UCEED 2026 application form was released on October 01, 2025. The last day of form submission without a late fee was extended till November 5, 2025. Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria must complete their UCEED 2026 Registration online before the last date. A late registration window was available with an additional fee of INR 500 till November 10, 2025. The UCEED 2026 application fee was around INR 4000 for the General category and INR 2000 for the Reserved category.

UCEED 2026 Exam Pattern

UCEED 2026 exam consists of two parts, namely, Part A (Computer-Based) and Part B (Offline). Part A included Numerical Answer Type (NAT), Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ). Part B had 2 subjective questions: one on Drawing and another on Design Aptitude. Only those who qualify Part A had their Part B evaluated. Part-B booklets of non-shortlisted candidates are not evaluated. The total duration of the exam was 3 hours (180 minutes). UCEED 2026 Syllabus includes a variety of topics to test design aptitude, creativity, logical reasoning, and drawing skills. Part A assessed spatial reasoning, practical knowledge, observation, logical reasoning, and language skills, while Part B tested a candidate's drawing and design aptitude. UCEED 2026 Admit Card

UCEED 2026 Admit Card was released on January 02, 2026, by IIT Bombay on the official UCEED admission portal. It was issued only to candidates who have successfully completed the application process. UCEED 2026 Admit Card includes important details such as the exam date and time, exam centre name and address, reporting time, candidate’s details, and exam-day guidelines. Candidates must carry a printed copy of the admit card along with a valid photo ID on the exam day. Without the admit card, candidates were not be allowed to appear for the UCEED 2026 exam. In case of any discrepancy, candidates must contact the exam authority and get it corrected before the deadline.
