The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released the RRB Technician Notification 2026 under CEN 02/2026 for recruitment to Technician Grade-I Signal and various Technician Grade-III posts across Indian Railways. The detailed notification confirms 6,557 vacancies, comprising 323 Technician Grade-I Signal vacancies and 6,234 Technician Grade-III vacancies.

The RRB Technician 2026 application window was open from June 30 to July 29, 2026, while the application fee could be paid until July 31, 2026. The application modification window was available from August 1 to August 10, 2026, followed by the scribe-details submission window from August 11 to August 15, 2026. The RRB Technician 2026 CBT exam date has not yet been announced.

RRB Technician recruitment follows a single-stage Computer-Based Test (CBT), Document Verification and Medical Examination. A separate application is required for each pay level because separate CBTs are conducted for Level 5 and Level 2 posts.

RRB Technician 2026: Application Process

The RRB Technician 2026 application window is closed. Candidates could submit applications online through the RRB application portal from June 30 to July 29, 2026.

The application process involved:

1. Visiting the official RRB application portal.
2. Creating or using an existing RRB account.
3. Completing personal and educational details.
4. Selecting the applicable pay level.
5. Choosing one RRB per pay level and providing post preferences.
6. Capturing the required live photograph.
7. Uploading the prescribed signature and other applicable documents.
8. Paying the examination fee online.
9. Submitting and saving the completed application.

RRB Technician 2026: Selection Process

RRB Technician CEN 02/2026 follows a single-stage CBT followed by Document Verification and Medical Examination. There is no interview or separate aptitude test in the Technician recruitment process.

The CBT marks are used for shortlisting and merit preparation. Where the CBT is conducted in multiple shifts, RRB will apply the prescribed normalisation methodology.

The RRB Technician 2026 admit card has not yet been released for CEN 02/2026 because the CBT date is yet to be announced.

RRBs will release the city intimation slip and e-call letter separately before the examination. Candidates should download these documents from the RRB website associated with their application.

The RRB Technician CBT consists of 100 objective-type questions for 100 marks with a duration of 90 minutes. There is a negative marking of 1/3 mark for every incorrect answer.

Technician Grade-III accounts for approximately 95% of the total vacancies, making it the substantially larger recruitment category.

The detailed CEN also provides RRB-wise, Railway-wise and trade-wise vacancy distribution. Vacancies are provisional and may change according to Railway requirements.

RRB Technician 2026: Result

The RRB Technician 2026 result for CEN 02/2026 has not been released yet because the CBT is yet to be conducted.

The result will be released after completion of the CBT and the subsequent evaluation process. Candidates will be able to check their result through the respective RRB websites.

RRB Technician 2026: Answer Key

The RRB Technician 2026 answer key for CEN 02/2026 has not yet been released.

RRB is expected to release a provisional answer key and response sheet after the CBT. Candidates will then be given an opportunity to raise objections within the prescribed window. After reviewing valid objections, RRB will publish the final answer key/result as applicable.
