SRMJEEE Eligibility Criteria 2026 is determined by the SRM University. The candidates should be at least 16 years and 6 months old by July 31 in the year they appear for their board exams and should have passed the 12th grade in science with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and another minor subject from Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Information Technology, securing a minimum of 60% aggregate marks. SRMJEEE General Eligibility Criteria 2026
Candidates who have completed their 12th standard from NIOS must have done their 10th standard from a regular school or vice versa to be eligible for the exam. Otherwise, they will not be considered for SRMJEEE 2026. SRMJEEE Detailed Eligibility Criteria 2026: Course-Specific
Candidates must be at least 16 years and 6 months by July 31 when they appear for Class 12 board exams. The candidates must have passed their class 12th Science stream and secured at least 60% marks in Physics, Mathematics, and another minor subject. SRMJEEE Eligibility Criteria 2026: NIOS Candidates
Candidates who have passed 12th grade from the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) need to fulfil extra eligibility criteria as well. They need to have completed their 10th standard from a regular school, or vice versa. In case this requirement is not fulfilled, NIOS candidates will not be eligible to apply for SRMJEEE 2026.
Important Documents for SRMJEEE 2026
To claim eligibility, the candidates need to present the following documents at the time of application:
- Any valid, government-issued ID proof, such as Aadhar, voter ID and passport, is required for SRMJEEE 2026.
- 10th and 12th Mark sheet and Certificate.
- Recent passport-size photographs, as per the application requirements, should be submitted along with the application.
*NIOS students are required to produce a certificate for passing the 10th standard from a regular school.
Common Mistakes Regarding SRMJEEE Eligibility 2026
- Age Limit Confusion: Many candidates mistakenly focus on their age at the time of application rather than on the exam date. To be eligible, candidates must be 16 years and 6 months old on the 31st July of the calendar year in which the 12th Board examination is to be held.
- Confusion in Subject Requirements: Candidates willing to apply for B.Tech programs must have studied Physics and Mathematics in their Class 12th. On the other hand, applicants applying for programs like Bioengineering must have studied Biology along with Physics and Chemistry. A common misconception among students is that they think that, without Mathematics, they can still apply for engineering courses without fulfilling the additional subject requirement.
- Confusion Regarding NIOS Eligibility: Students from the National Institute of Open Schooling often misunderstand the condition that they must have completed their 10th standard from regular schooling or vice versa. This specific eligibility criterion is often overlooked, leading to ineligibility.
