How to Apply for the SSC CGL Application Process 2026?

The SSC CGL 2026 application process has been completed. SSC accepted online applications through its official portal during the initial registration period from May 21 to June 22, 2026. The Commission later reopened the registration window from June 23 to June 25, 2026, until 11 PM, giving eligible candidates an additional time to submit their applications. Candidates could make fee payment till June 26, 2026, followed by the application correction window from July 1 to July 3, 2026. The application process includes online registration, uploading photographs and signatures, filling out personal and educational details, and payment of the application fee.

 

Stage 1: SSC CGL 2026 Online Registration

Candidates must first register on the official SSC website to begin the Application Process. It is important to provide a valid email ID and mobile number because SSC will communicate updates through them. The steps for online registration are:

1. Visit the official SSC website
2. Click on the "Apply" tab and select "CGL Link".
3. Click on "New User/Register Now".
4. Enter basic details like: Name, Father's Name, Aadhaar Number, Date of Birth, Mother's Name, Email ID, and Mobile Number.
5. Submit the details.
6. Receive OTP on the registered mobile number and email.
7. Enter the OTP to verify registration.
8. The system will generate SSC CGL registration details (Registration Number and Password).
9. Use these details to log in and proceed with the application.

 

Stage 2: Uploading Photo and Signature

After registration, candidates must upload a passport-size photo and signature as per the specified format. The table below shows the required specifications:

Guidelines for Photograph:

• It should be recent and taken against a white/light-colored background.
• The face must be clear, without shadows.
• The candidate must not wear glasses, cap, or mask.
• Candidates can use online photo resizing tools to adjust the image dimensions.

Guidelines for Signature:

• It should be in black or blue ink on a white sheet.
• The signature should match the one used in official documents.

 

Stage 3: Filling the SSC CGL Application Form 2026

SSC CGL Application Form 2026 requires candidates to fill in personal and educational details carefully. The steps are as follows:

 

Step 1: Log in using the Registration Number and Password.

 

Step 2: Enter personal details, including Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Nationality, and Category.

 

Step 3: Enter educational qualifications, including Class 10th, 12th, and Graduation details.

 

Step 4: Choose three exam centres in the same region and select the preferred post.

 

Step 5: Read the declaration, check the "I Agree" box, enter the captcha, and click Submit to proceed to fee payment.

 

Stage 4: Payment of SSC CGL 2026 Application Fee

Candidates who submitted their applications during the reopened registration period could pay the prescribed application fee until June 26, 2026 (11:00 PM) through online modes such as UPI, Net Banking, Debit Card, or Credit Card.
