SEED Exam Centres 2026 FAQs

What is the mode of the SEED 2026 exam?

The SEED 2026 exam will be conducted in an online proctored mode. Candidates do not need to travel to an exam centre because they can take the test from a location of their choice. The online exam will be monitored through remote proctoring to ensure fairness and integrity. This allows candidates to attempt the exam on their computer or laptop securely. Details about exam guidelines and procedures will be provided on the official SID admissions portal.

Will candidates be assigned fixed exam centres in 2026?

No, in 2026, candidates will not be assigned fixed exam centres due to the online proctored mode of the SEED exam. This means candidates can take the exam remotely, eliminating the need to visit a physical centre. Candidates should have a quiet, well-lit place with a good internet connection to appear for the exam. They must follow all instructions for the online proctoring process to avoid any issues.

Can candidates choose their exam centres for SEED 2026?

Since SEED 2026 is online and proctored remotely, candidates will not select or be allotted traditional exam centres. They must choose a suitable location themselves, such as home or any quiet place with a computer/laptop and internet setup. This change offers flexibility but requires candidates to prepare their environment according to exam rules and guidelines provided by the Symbiosis Institute of Design.

What is the list of SEED 2026 exam centres?

There are no physical exam centres for SEED 2026 because the exam is online and remote-proctored. However, candidates can refer to previous year centres for an idea, but for 2026, the exam happens wherever candidates take it from their own setup. The official instructions will recommend suitable conditions, but won’t assign a centre or city as before.

What are the technical requirements for the SEED 2026 exam location?

Candidates must have a computer or laptop with a webcam, microphone, and stable internet connectivity to take the SEED 2026 exam online. The exam environment should be well-lit, quiet, and free from disturbances, as proctors will monitor candidates remotely. Candidates should also install any required software beforehand and follow guidelines for system compatibility and security to ensure a smooth exam experience.

How will candidates receive exam centre instructions?

Candidates will receive all exam instructions, including technical and procedural details, through the SID official admissions portal and their registered email. The admit card will also contain important guidelines on setting up the exam environment and rules for the online proctored exam. Candidates must carefully read these instructions to avoid any confusion on exam day.

Will candidates need identification at the exam location?

Yes, candidates must keep a valid government-issued photo ID ready during the SEED 2026 exam. Although the exam is online, identity verification is part of the remote proctoring process. Proctors may ask candidates to show their ID on camera before starting the test to confirm their identity and maintain exam security.

Can candidates switch devices during the SEED exam?

No, candidates should not switch devices once the SEED 2026 exam starts. The exam will be monitored through online proctoring software that tracks device activity during the test. Switching devices might lead to disqualification. Candidates must use a reliable device, preferably a laptop or desktop, throughout the exam duration.

What about internet disruptions during the SEED exam?

Candidates should ensure a stable internet connection for the entire duration of the SEED 2026 exam to avoid disruption. In case of connection issues, candidates might lose exam time or face disqualification, depending on the rules. It is recommended to have backup internet arrangements or try to take the exam from locations with reliable connectivity.

Is there any help desk for exam centre issues?

Yes, the official SID admissions portal will provide contact details for technical support during the SEED 2026 exam. Candidates facing issues related to online exam access, proctoring, or technical glitches can contact the help desk for timely assistance. It is advisable to check contact hours and prepare before the exam day.

Will SEED candidates require specific software for the exam?

Yes, candidates may need to download and install a secure browser or specific proctoring software to take the SEED 2026 exam online. This software ensures exam integrity by restricting certain computer functions and monitoring candidates. Detailed download instructions will be shared well before the exam date on the official portal.

Are there any safety protocols at exam centres for SEED 2026?

Since SEED 2026 is a remote online exam, there are no physical exam centres where safety protocols apply. Instead, candidates should create a safe and distraction-free exam environment on their own. They must follow all online proctoring guidelines that help maintain exam security from their location.

How will candidates know their exam timing?

Candidates can choose their preferred exam slot within the window provided on the exam date, typically between 10 AM to 4 PM. The exact timing details will be on the admit card and through official communication. This flexible timing allows candidates to plan their exam attempt during a convenient time.

Can candidates appear for SEED 2026 from outside India?

The official guidance typically allows candidates to take the SEED exam from India only, due to online proctoring infrastructure and time zone considerations. Candidates residing abroad should check the latest instructions on the SID portal or contact admissions support to confirm if they are eligible to take the exam remotely from outside India.

What happens if a candidate violates exam centre rules?

Though there are no physical centres, candidates must follow all remote proctoring rules strictly, such as no communication, no cheating, and keeping the camera on. Violation of rules can lead to cancellation of the candidate’s exam scores and disqualification from the admission process. Candidates should review the exam guidelines carefully to avoid penalties.
