TBSE Class 10 Exam Pattern 2026 follows the structure set by the Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE). The board conducted the TBSE Class 10 board exams 2026 from 26 February to 24 March 2026, in offline, pen and paper mode. Most theory papers run for 3 hours 15 minutes, from 12:00 noon to 3:15 PM. Each subject carries 100 marks in total. For most subjects, this is split into an 80 mark theory paper and a 20 mark internal assessment. Science follows a different split, with a 70 mark theory paper and a 30 mark practical. To pass, students need at least 33% marks in each subject, as per the TBSE Madhyamik marking scheme 2026.

TBSE Class 10 Exam Pattern 2026

  • The exam is conducted in offline mode, from 12:00 noon.
  • Most subjects run for 3 hours 15 minutes. Social Science and Science follow a different time split (explained below).
  • Each subject carries 100 marks: 80 theory + 20 internal assessment (Science: 70 theory + 30 practical).
  • Students appear for five compulsory subjects; English, a first language (Bengali, Kokborok, Mizo, Hindi, Arabic and others), Mathematics, Science and Social Science, plus one optional subject.
  • Question papers include MCQs, one word and very short answer questions, short answer questions, long answer questions, and map based questions in some subjects.
  • There is no negative marking.
  • The minimum passing marks is 33% in each subject, combining theory and internal/practical marks.

TBSE Class 10 Exam Pattern 2026 for English

The TBSE Class 10 English exam pattern 2026 divides the 80 mark theory paper into three sections; Reading, Grammar and Writing, and Literature. The remaining 20 marks come from internal assessment, taking the subject total to 100.

 

TBSE Class 10 Exam Pattern 2026 for Mathematics (Standard)

TBSE now offers Mathematics at two difficulty levels for Class 10; Mathematics Standard and Mathematics Basic. The Mathematics Standard question paper carries 80 theory marks, divided into six sections from A to F, and runs for 3 hours 15 minutes.

The Mathematics Basic question paper also carries 80 theory marks but is divided into five sections, from A to E, meant for students who need a simpler difficulty level.

 

TBSE Class 10 Exam Pattern 2026 for Science

The TBSE Class 10 Science exam has a 70 mark theory paper covering Physics, Chemistry and Biology, plus a separate 30 mark practical, taking the subject total to 100. The theory paper is split by timing: students get 1 hour 15 minutes for the Biology portion and 2 hours for the combined Physics and Chemistry portion.

 

TBSE Class 10 Exam Pattern 2026 for Social Science

The TBSE Social Science paper is split into two separate books; Part 1 (Economics and Geography) and Part 2 (History and Political Science). Each part is worth 40 marks and runs for 1 hour 30 minutes, taking the theory total to 80 marks, plus 20 marks internal assessment.
