TS ICET Latest news and articles
The Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE) releases TS ICET cutoff as a category-wise, college-wise, and course-wise "last rank statement" alongside the seat allotment result of each counselling phase, available at the official counselling portal, tgicet.nic.in. For TS ICET 2026, the First Phase seat allotment was released on 11 August 2026, and the Final Phase runs from 17 to 25 August 2026; TGCHE typically publishes the corresponding last-rank statement for each phase once that phase's allotment is finalised.
TS ICET Qualifying Cutoff 2026
Before any college-wise last rank comes into play, candidates first need to clear TGCHE's minimum qualifying cutoff to be eligible for counselling at all.
| Category | TS ICET Qualifying Cutoff |
| General, OBC, EWS | 25% (50 out of 200 marks) |
| SC/ST | No minimum qualifying marks |
Clearing this qualifying cutoff only makes a candidate eligible to register for counselling; it does not guarantee a seat, since actual admission depends on the college-wise last rank explained below.
What Is the TS ICET Last Rank Statement, and Where Do You Check It?
The "last rank" is the rank of the lowest-ranked candidate who was allotted a seat in a specific course, at a specific college, under a specific category, in a specific counselling phase. TGCHE publishes this as a formal "Last Rank Statement" document on tgicet.nic.in, separately for the First Phase and the Final Phase of each year's counselling.
How to check the TS ICET last rank statement:
- Visit the official counselling website, tgicet.nic.in.
- Look for the "First Phase Last Rank Statement" or "Final Phase Last Rank Statement" link for the relevant year on the homepage.
- Open the PDF and locate your college and course of interest.
- Cross-check the last rank against your own category (OC, BC-A to BC-E, SC-I to SC-III, ST, EWS) and gender, since last ranks are published separately for each combination.
- Compare your own rank card to the last rank; if your rank is equal to or better (numerically lower) than the last rank for your category, you would have been within range for that seat in that phase.
TS ICET 2025 Cutoff (Last Rank): College-Wise Sample Data
The table below shows a representative sample from TGCHE's official TGICET 2025 Final Phase Last Rank Statement, illustrating how widely the last rank varies by college, course, and category.
| College | Course | Category | Last Rank (2025 Final Phase) |
| OU College of Commerce & Business Management (OU Campus) | MBA | OC (Boys) | 111 |
| OU College of Commerce & Business Management (OU Campus) | MBA | SC-I | 1,097 |
| OU PG College, Narsapur | MBA | OC (Boys) | 8,785 |
| OU PG College, Narsapur | MBA | ST (Boys) | 40,104 |
| JNTU University College of Management, Kukatpally | MBA | OC (Boys) | 491 |
| JNTU University College of Management, Kukatpally | MBA | ST (Girls) | 2,012 |
| Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology, Gandipet | MBA | OC (Boys) | 795 |
| Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology, Gandipet | MBA | SC-III (Girls) | 5,979 |
| Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science, Warangal | MBA | OC (Boys) | 6,841 |
| Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science, Warangal | MBA | ST (Boys) | 37,822 |
| Kakatiya University College, MCA Department | MCA | OC (Boys) | 1,219 |
| Kakatiya University College, MCA Department | MCA | ST (Girls) | 22,915 |
This is a sample from a document spanning roughly 23 pages across all participating institutions; the pattern worth noting is how sharply the last rank widens between OC and ST candidates, and between a university's flagship campus and its affiliated colleges, for the same course. The full statement is available directly on tgicet.nic.in.
What Actually Moves the TS ICET Last Rank Every Year
The sample table above already shows the two biggest swings, and both come down to how TGCHE fills seats rather than any single "difficulty" factor.
The first is category. At OU College of Commerce & Business Management, the 2025 Final Phase MBA last rank was 111 for OC (Boys) but 1,097 for SC-I — nearly a 10x gap for the identical seat. At Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology, it was 795 for OC (Boys) against 5,979 for SC-III (Girls). This happens because TGCHE allots seats under Telangana's category matrix (OC, BC-A to BC-E, SC-I to SC-III, ST, EWS, with separate boys'/girls' ranks within most categories), so each category is effectively competing in its own pool for the same block of seats, not against the full applicant list.
The second is which specific college a course sits at. OU's own campus MBA seats close out in double or triple digits for OC, while OU PG College, Narsapur — a different, less sought-after campus offering the identical MBA — closes at rank 8,785 for OC and past 40,000 for ST in the same phase. During option entry, candidates rank colleges in order of preference, and the last rank simply marks how far down the merit list TGCHE had to go before that particular college-course-category combination ran out of takers; a flagship campus runs out fast, an affiliated college further down everyone's preference list runs out slow.
Phase adds a third layer. A First Phase last rank only reflects candidates who registered and exercised options in that phase. Any seat that goes unfilled — because the allotted candidate didn't self-report, or too few candidates from that category ranked the college highly enough — carries forward into the Final Phase and gets re-offered to a wider pool. That's why a college's Final Phase last rank for a given category is typically wider than its First Phase last rank, not narrower, and why comparing this year's Final Phase figures against next year's First Phase figures for the same college isn't a like-for-like comparison.

TS ICET Cutoff FAQs
Does TS ICET release a single cutoff score, or college-wise cutoffs?
TS ICET does not publish one exam-wide cutoff. TGCHE publishes a college-wise, course-wise, and category-wise "last rank statement" separately for the First Phase and Final Phase of each counselling cycle.
What is the TS ICET 2026 qualifying cutoff?
General, OBC, and EWS candidates need 25% (50 out of 200 marks) to qualify; there is no minimum qualifying mark for SC/ST candidates.
Where can I check the official TS ICET last rank statement?
It is published on the official counselling portal, tgicet.nic.in, as a separate PDF for the First Phase and the Final Phase of each year.
Why does the last rank for the same college and course differ so much by category?
Because TGCHE allots seats category-wise (OC, BC-A to BC-E, SC-I to SC-III, ST, EWS), each category fills from its own pool of qualified candidates. In the 2025 Final Phase, for instance, OU College of Commerce & Business Management's MBA last rank was 111 for OC (Boys) but 1,097 for SC-I — the seat is identical, only the competing pool differs.
Why might the Final Phase last rank be different from the First Phase last rank for the same college?
Seats that remain unfilled after the First Phase are offered again in the Final Phase, often to a wider pool of candidates, which can shift the last rank compared to the First Phase for the same college and course.
Does clearing the TS ICET qualifying cutoff guarantee a seat?
No, clearing the qualifying cutoff only makes you eligible to register for counselling; the seat itself depends on your rank relative to the last rank for your target college, course, and category in that specific phase.
Is the TS ICET 2025 last rank data relevant for estimating TS ICET 2026 chances?
It can be used as a rough reference for how competitive a college and course typically is, but the actual TS ICET 2026 last rank depends on this year's specific candidate pool and paper difficulty, so it should not be treated as a guaranteed prediction.
