UGC NET Eligibility Criteria 2026: Age Limit

Age relaxation is category-based (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD/Women) and specific cases, like research experience as per UGC rules, not automatically for all LLM holders. The age limit for UGC NET 2026 depends on the post. For an Assistant Professor, there is no age restriction. However, for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), the upper age limit is 30 years as of June 1, 2026. 5-year age relaxations are provided for SC/ST/OBC‑NCL/PwD and women candidates. Students should ensure to fulfil all the age limit criteria before filling out the UGC NET 2026 Application Form. Check out the following table for the UGC NET 2026 Age Limit.
