IIT Bombay campus spans more than 550 acres in Powai, Mumbai which offers a green and vibrant environment that is balanced by academics and student life. The institute has a modern classroom with advanced teaching facilities, excellent research facilities with state of the art labs and a huge central library containing more than 2.4 lakh books and various journals and online sources. The IIT Bombay hostel has 18 male and female hostels that are well furnished, provide mess facilities with various food choices, and recreational facilities. IIT Bombay Facilities: Campus Highlights

The campus of IIT Bombay offers all the amenities needed for students' overall growth. With state-of-the-art classrooms, libraries, and cosy dorm accommodations, the institute excels in all areas.

 

24-hour power supply: Every hostel room has a 24-hour power source to guarantee that every student has a comfortable stay. In addition, if there are any technical problems, an electrician is available to quickly establish the backup power supply.

 

Internet and Wi-Fi service: All of IIT Bombay's hostels provide dependable Wi-Fi. Every student is given a unique set of login credentials to utilise in order to gain access to the network. Using their unique university login credentials, visitors visiting IITB from Europe, Australia, and several Asian countries will be able to connect to the IITB WiFi network. Faculty at IITB do not need to generate unique LDAP IDs for them.

 

Likewise, IITB users can access free WiFi at most colleges in these nations by using their IITB LDAP ID after completing a one-time setup at the IITB campus. IITB customers can immediately access WiFi internet anywhere there is eduroam coverage after setting up here.

 

Comfortable Common Areas: Every hostel features a common area with a TV and indoor games like chess and others.

 

Gym: Every student has access to a fully equipped gym that is available. Students can ask for advice on diets and fitness plans based on their needs and preferences. The gym has set hours for both morning and evening sessions and follows those timetables. There is space inside for 20 to 25 students at once.

 

Family guest room at the hostel: Students are welcome to stay in one of the hostel's guest rooms when their parents or guardians come to visit them on campus. To enquire about availability, you must give early notice to the lodging staff.

 

Cafeteria: There are some interesting food alternatives available at IIT. The menu at Gulmohar Restaurant includes both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Within the campus, the restaurant offers a somewhat more traditional dining experience.

 

Medical/ Hospital: There is a hospital on campus that provides academics, staff, and students with both general and speciality healthcare services.

 

IIT Bombay Hostel

The hostels of IIT Bombay are known for their cutting-edge amenities and vibrant hostel culture. The Hostel Coordinating Unit (HCU) of IIT Bombay oversees and manages the institute's seventeen dormitories in total. Students residing on the institute's hostel grounds are served by a private caterer. For each hostel, there is also a separate, well-equipped sports area.

 

Every UG and PG course's first-year student is assigned to the same hostel. This option to share a hostel is only available during the first year of the relevant courses. During summer and winter internships, external interns are also assigned to the hostel rooms, in addition to the normal students. In addition, parents who are visiting their children on campus for a week are also offered guest accommodations.

IIT Bombay Library

IIT Bombay has a huge Central Library that proivde a knowledge base. Traditional and contemporary learning materials are mixed together in the library. Total five lakh books, substantial theses, publications, journals, and other reading materials are indexed in the Central Library. In addition, the store has almost 1000 CDs, 231 DVDs, and E-books. In order to enhance digital learning, the library also offers an electronic collection of research and is outfitted with contemporary plagiarism detection software.

 

IIT Bombay Sports Complex

IIT Bombay helps students by encouraging sports-related physical development. Sports including athletics, basketball, badminton, cricket, football, hockey, squash, lawn tennis, swimming, table tennis, and more are offered by the institutes. Each hostel has its own basketball and volleyball courts. There are fields accessible in addition to football grounds and cricket pitches. In addition, the hostel offers indoor games like table tennis, football, and snooker. According to the National athletics Organization's policy, first-year students must register for extracurricular activities, including athletics.

 

IIT Bombay Sports Festival-AAVHAN

For those who love sports, IIT Bombay hosts a three-day event every year. The event features 13 different sports in competition. Participating athletes from more than 3,000 colleges, organisations, and clubs around the country provide fierce competition.
