IIT Bombay Cutoff 2026 Out: CSE, MTech, UCEED Ranks

The IIT Bombay cutoff for 2026 is now mostly out across all three admission routes. JoSAA has closed all 5 rounds of JEE Advanced counselling, so the BTech cutoff for IIT Bombay is final for this year. UCEED-based B.Des counselling has also finished 5 rounds, with Round 5 seats allotted on July 9, 2026. GATE-based MTech admission is still active, COAP has released the Round 9 seat allotment and is now in the "independent decisive rounds" phase, with a total of 10 rounds planned this year (5 main rounds plus 5 additional/decisive rounds).

IIT Bombay CSE cutoff closed at All India Rank 67 for the Open category in Round 5, the tightest closing rank across all programmes. Civil Engineering, by contrast, closed at rank 4417 for the same category, a gap of over 4,300 ranks between the two branches. In B.Des, IIT Bombay's Open category closed at rank 16, the lowest (toughest) among all UCEED-affiliated institutes.

IIT Bombay Cutoff: JEE Advanced Cutoff 2026

JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) runs BTech counselling for IIT Bombay using the JEE Advanced All India Rank. CSE opened at rank 1 and closed at rank 67 in the Open category under the gender-neutral, All India quota. EWS closed at rank 20, OBC-NCL at 62, SC at 39, and ST at 16, all under 70, confirming CSE as the tightest branch this year.

The IIT Bombay electrical engineering cutoff followed at a comfortable distance, closing at rank 411 for Open, 110 for EWS, 281 for OBC-NCL, 130 for SC, and 90 for ST. Mechanical Engineering opened up further still, closing at 1900 for Open, while Civil Engineering had the widest spread of any branch, closing at 4417.

IIT Bombay CSE Cutoff: JEE Advanced

The IIT Bombay CSE cutoff is the hardest branch to get into at the institute. Gender-neutral Open seats closed at rank 67, while the Open (PwD) sub-category closed as early as rank 6. Female-only Open seats closed much later, at rank 395, this is normal, since supernumerary female seats need more ranks to fill the same seat count.

IIT Bombay MTech Cutoff 2026

MTech admission at IIT Bombay runs on the GATE score, with seats finalised through COAP (Common Offer Acceptance Portal), a shared counselling platform for MTech seats across IITs. For 2026, COAP is running 10 rounds in total, 5 main rounds and 5 additional/decisive rounds.

Round 9 seat allotment is already out, and the process is currently in the independent decisive rounds phase, so a fresh branch-wise IIT Bombay GATE cutoff score for this cycle has not been published yet.

Until that comes out, the last four years give a working benchmark. Computer Science required a GATE score of 750 in 2021, and this climbed steadily to 775 by 2024, a rise of 25 points in four years. Data Science stayed the highest-scoring programme throughout, ending at 790 in 2024. Civil Engineering had the lowest bar among the tracked branches, at 705 in 2024, while Electrical Engineering moved from 720 to 745 over the same period.

IIT Bombay UCEED Cutoff 2026

IIT Bombay conducts UCEED and runs the joint B.Des counselling for all participating institutes, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Indore, IIT Roorkee, and IIITDM Jabalpur. This year's counselling ran across 5 rounds, and all of them are complete. Round 5 provisional seats were allotted on July 9, 2026, with the seat acceptance fee window open till July 13, 2026.

Before Part B (the drawing and design section) is even evaluated, candidates must clear a minimum in Part A. For UCEED 2026, that Part A qualifying mark for OBC and EWS categories is 90% of that required by the general category, while the Part A cut-off marks for SC and ST candidates are 50% of that required by the general category.

On ranks, IIT Bombay stayed the toughest B.Des seat in the country for 2026. The Open category closed between rank 1 and 16, EWS between 2 and 5, OBC-NCL between 6 and 16, SC between 2 and 8, and ST between 1 and 5. For comparison, IIT Delhi's Open category closed between rank 17 and 28, and IIT Guwahati's between 15 and 78, both noticeably wider than IIT Bombay.
