B.Tech Horticulture is a 4-year undergraduate program that mainly focuses on the science and art of producing decorative plants, fruits, vegetables, flowers, and spices. This course is designed to equip its candidates with scientific knowledge and technical skills that are related to plant cultivation, management, breeding, and production. As agriculture modernises day by day and the high demand for sustainable practices grows, horticulture plays a crucial role in improving crop quality and productivity while conserving resources.

 

The eligibility criteria for pursuing a B.Tech Horticulture program is that, the candidates must have passed their higher education (10+2) with core subjects being Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology with an aggregate of 50% marks. The admissions are based on entrance exams like JEE Main. Additionally, some colleges may conduct their entrance exams or accept results from state-level examinations like the MHT CET/KCET, or ICAR AIEEA, etc.

 

The course fee for government universities ranges between INR 85,000- 3,00,000. While in private universities, the course fees range between INR 1,50,000- 4,00,000. B.Tech Horticulture Admission Process 2025

The admissions process for all universities offering the B.Tech. in Horticulture degree is almost the same. For your convenience, the University of Horticulture Science's B.Tech. The Horticulture admissions process is listed below.

 

Step 1. First of all, apply for the KCET exam through the official website of the Karnataka Examination Authority. The applications will open tentatively in the early months of the year.

 

Step 2. Appear for the KCET on the scheduled day and focus on getting a maximum score to increase the level of selection during the college counselling process.

 

Step 3. After the announcement of KCET results, register yourself for the KEA counseling process.
