Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) is a five-year bachelor degree which equips the student in the various professions in the healthcare and management of animals. Through the curriculum, there is a blend of theoretical knowledge of animal sciences and practical training in veterinary clinics, livestock farms, and research. As animal health, food safety and control of zoonotic diseases have assumed significance, there is a growing demand on the services of graduates of BVSc all over India.

 

Upon graduating BVSc, graduates can serve as Veterinary Doctors in the government departments of animal husbandry, in the private clinic, dairy farm, and animal welfare wells. Among the jobs are Veterinary Surgeon, Livestock Development Officer, Animal Health Inspector and Veterinary Pathologist. There is also an opportunity in research laboratories, pharmaceutical firms, and conservation of wildlife. The initial salaries are usually between INR 3 to 6 LPA depending upon the industry and location.
