• Updated on  16 Aug, 2025 by Shibam Kumar

The Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) is a 5.5 years professional degree in medical, surgical, and husbandry care of both domestic and livestock animals. The course equips the student with the skills necessary to become a veterinary doctor, allowing them to cure, treat and prevent animal diseases. The course is particularly known as BVSc & AH (Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry).

To secure an admission into the BVSc in Rajasthan, candidates are usually required to take and qualify in the Rajasthan Pre-Veterinary Test (RPVT) a state-university level entrance examination organised by the Rajasthan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (RAJUVAS) or the NEET UG entrance exam organised by the NTA.

Students can then engage in an online counseling session to pick the colleges of their choice after qualifying in RPVT or NEET UG. Admission will be finalized after verification of the documents, payment of the fee, and verification of the eligibility criteria.

The selection process is made in such a way that it is transparent and enables deserving and eligible students to pursue veterinary education in reputed state institutions within Rajasthan.
