Diploma in Elementary Education is a two-year teacher training course through which candidates aspiring to become elementary or primary school teachers for Classes 1st to 8th are trained. The D.El.Ed admission process in Karnataka is generally merit-based and depends on candidates’ Class 12/PUC marks. Candidates are shortlisted through merit lists prepared on the basis of qualifying examination scores, followed by counselling and seat allotment. Students who have completed their higher secondary education in any stream, including Arts, Science, or Commerce, are eligible to apply.
