What is the Semester-Wise Structure of MTech in Embedded Systems Syllabus?

The MTech in Embedded Systems syllabus at MNIT Jaipur is divided into four semesters. The first semester focuses on core subjects and hardware and software laboratory work. The second semester includes system design, a minor project and elective courses.

The third and fourth semesters are primarily dedicated to dissertation work. The semester-wise structure is given below:

*Students have to opt for only one of ECT990 or ECT992. The second semester includes elective courses from which students can choose according to the programme requirements and recommendations.

The third and fourth semesters focus on dissertation work, with each semester carrying 16 credits.

Semester 1

The first semester establishes the core technical foundation of the MTech in Embedded Systems programme. Students study digital system design, data structures, advanced microcomputer systems, VLSI synthesis and mathematical methods.

Laboratory courses provide practical exposure to hardware and software systems. The semester carries a total of 19 credits.

Semester 2

The second semester introduces advanced and specialised subjects through electives. Students also undertake a System Design Lab and Minor Project. Elective options include Embedded SoC and Cyber Physical Systems, Advanced Embedded Software Design, IoT and IIoT, FPGA Physical Design and Probabilistic Machine Learning & AI.

The semester carries a total of 22 credits.

Semester 3

The third semester is dedicated to dissertation work. Students can apply the technical knowledge developed during the earlier semesters to an advanced research or design problem.

The dissertation carries 16 credits in the third semester.

Semester 4

The fourth semester continues the dissertation and allows students to complete their research or project work. The dissertation carries another 16 credits, bringing the total programme requirement to 73 credits.
