Bihar Board Class 10 Eligibility 2027 criteria are prescribed by the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) for students who wish to appear for the Matric Annual Examination 2027. Students studying in Class 9 during the 2025-26 academic session and moving to Class 10 in the 2026-27 session are generally required to complete the prescribed registration process through their schools. Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has laid down clear eligibility norms for students wishing to appear in the Class 10 (Matric) board examination in 2027.

Who Can Apply for Bihar Board Class 10 Exam 2027?

To be eligible for the Bihar Board Class 10 exam 2027, a candidate must satisfy educational, age, and enrolment conditions prescribed by the board. These rules apply to both regular school students and private (independent) candidates.

  • Regular Class 10 students of the 2026–27 session whose names were missed or whose earlier forms were rejected.
  • The student must have passed Class 9 from a recognized institution, preferably a school affiliated to BSEB.
  • Candidates who have not cleared Class 9 are not eligible to register for the Class 10 board exam.
  • Students must meet the minimum age requirement, i.e., 14 years as of March 1, 2027.
  • Regular students must maintain a minimum of 75% school attendance to be eligible for the board examination.
  • They must provide correct personal and academic details.
  • They must verify the information printed on the dummy registration card.
  • They must complete the examination application process through the school within the prescribed deadline.
  • For private candidates, admission is allowed under the independent category through an authorized school, but they must still meet the Class 9 pass requirement.

While filling the Bihar Board Class 10 application form 2027, schools and candidates must furnish the following details:

  • Correct personal details (name, father’s/mother’s name, date of birth) as per official records.
  • Valid Class 9 pass certificate/mark sheet from a recognized school.
  • Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD), if claiming reservation or fee concession.
  • Recent passport-size photograph and signature as per BSEB specifications.

Any mismatch in details between Class 9 and Class 10 records can lead to rejection or complications during admit-card generation.

Is There an Age Limit to Take the Bihar Board 10th Exam 2027?

A candidate must be at least 14 years old as of March 1, 2027, to be eligible for the Class 10 exam. Students born after March 1, 2013 (i.e., younger than 14 on the cutoff date) will not be considered eligible, and the fee will not be refunded. BSEB has not specified any upper age limit for Class 10 candidates. There is no prescribed upper age limit mentioned for appearing in the regular Bihar Board Matric examination. Students who failed in previous years can reappear.

Bihar Board Class 10 Exam 2027 Enrollment and Attendance Requirements

To become eligible for the Bihar Board Class 10 exam 2027, the following enrollment and attendance requirements must be fulfilled:

  • The candidate must be a regular Class 10 student in a BSEB-affiliated school for the academic session 2026–27.
  • Class 9 registration is an important requirement for students preparing to appear for the Bihar Board Class 10 Exam 2027. Students are expected to have their initial registration completed before the final examination application is submitted.
  • The details entered during Class 9/initial registration should be carefully checked because discrepancies between the initial registration and final examination form can create problems. Students should therefore verify their name, father's name, mother's name, date of birth, gender, subjects, and other personal details before the registration is finalized.
  • Schools maintain attendance records, and students are generally expected to have at least 75% attendance during the session. Low attendance may lead to non-issuance of the admit card.
