JKCET 2026 Results: How to check, Scorecard, Merit list

Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations is expected to declare the JKCET Result in April 2026 on the official website, jkbopee.gov.in. The Board prepares a list in order of inter-se merit of candidates in the JKCET in descending order for the open merit category and similarly for each reserved category separately. The candidates who are declared qualified in the JKCET exam have to then appear in the online counselling process.

How is the JKCET Result Prepared?

JKCET scores are calculated based on the performance of the candidates in the entrance exam. Based on the marks of the candidates in the entrance test, the JKCET merit list is drawn.

The marking scheme of the exam is used to calculate the scores of the candidates.

• Candidates get 1 mark for each correct answer.
• 0.25 marks is deducted for any wrong attempt.

The Board shall prepare a list in order of inter-se merit of candidates in JKCET in descending order of the scores obtained by the candidates. In this way merit list will be prepared for the open merit category and similarly for each reserved category separately. In case two or more candidates have obtained the same number of marks in the entrance test, the merit of such candidates shall be determined by the method of tie-breaking. The merit list is used to allot seats in different participating colleges via the JKCET counselling process.

Steps to Check JKCET Result 2026

Candidates can check their JKCET 2026 result online by logging into the official portal using their credentials. Candidates will be able to access the result of JKCET 2026 by following the steps given below:

• Visit the official website.
• Click on the result link.
• Candidates will have to provide their JKCET application number and password.
• Click on 'Submit'.
• JKCET 2026 results will appear on the screen in PDF format.
• The result has to be downloaded and printed for future use.

Tie Breaking to Prepare JKCET Merit List 2026

In case of equal scores, specific tie-breaking rules are applied to determine the merit ranking of candidates.These criteria ensure a fair and systematic preparation of the final merit list.

1. Marks obtained in the Mathematics component of the Entrance test.
2. Marks obtained in Physics component of the Entrance test, if marks obtained in Mathematics components are equal;
3. Marks obtained in Chemistry component of the Entrance test, if marks obtained in Mathematics and Physics components are equal;
4. Candidates older in age, if marks obtained in Math, Physics and Chemistry are same.
5. For further tie, the first Alphabet of the candidate’s name will be considered.

JKCET 2026 Result: Counselling

The candidates who qualify in JKCET can submit the online/offline preference forms for JKCET counselling. The online/offline preference form enables a candidate to fill in the preferences for various disciplines/institutions for allotment of seats for admission in BE/BTech Engineering courses in the government and private colleges of the UT of J&K/Ladakh. JKCET counselling will have 2 rounds and one mop-up round. A final, special counselling round can be held if needed.
