NSET Counselling Process 2025

The National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) 2025 counselling process has officially started the admission process in NISER Bhubaneswar and UM-DAE CEBS Mumbai. The first round of counselling will start on July 25, 2025, and the list of shortlisted candidates was released on July 18, 2025, via the official website. It is important to note that NISER and CEBS conduct counselling separately. There is no joint counselling process. Students must follow all instructions carefully to complete the admission formalities within the given timelines.

  • The first round of NEST 2025 counselling is ongoing on the official website.
  • Shortlisted candidates can check their status or download the list directly from the portal.
  • Admissions to NISER and UM-DAE CEBS are conducted separately, based on independent merit lists prepared by each institute.
  • Eligible candidates must register online through the respective counselling portals of NISER or CEBS.
  • After registration, candidates must download and complete the required documents, including:
    • Student Personal Details form
    • Medical History Declaration
    • Anti-ragging affidavits (signed by both student and parent/guardian)
    • Undertaking forms as per instructions
  • The first round of counselling continues until all seats are filled or the merit list is exhausted.
  • Once the first round concludes, each institute releases a waiting list to begin the second round of counselling.
  • The second round is also held separately by each institute and not through a combined process.
  • During counselling, candidate attendance is recorded, and a revised merit list is prepared based on those present.
  • Final seat allotments at both NISER and CEBS are made strictly according to this updated merit list.

NSET Counselling 2025 Registration Process

Candidates shortlisted through the NEST 2025 merit list must follow a specific registration process to secure admission to NISER Bhubaneswar or UM-DAE CEBS Mumbai. The registration window is limited. Students must carefully do it by not missing any step, as it may lead to disqualification from the counselling process. Below is the complete procedure to guide you on how to register for NEST counselling and proceed with seat allotment.

1. Registration: Visit the official NEST counselling portal and complete the registration using the student's NEST 2025 application number and password.

2. Application Form: Students must still review all the required personal information, like academic and contact details, carefully. They should upload the scanned PDFs of the required documents, such as NEST scorecard, admit card, valid photo ID, and relevant category or domicile certificates if applicable.

3. Fee Payment: Students must pay the prescribed counselling fee and refundable security deposit through the available online payment method suggested on the official website. The counselling fee varies among the students.

4. Choice Filling and Locking: Students must select their preferred institute (NISER or CEBS) and programme in order of preference. Students should make sure to lock their choices before the deadline to be considered for the seat allotment procedure.

5. Seat Allotment: Based on the student's merit rank, category, preferences, and seat availability, the system will allocate a seat. Seat allotment results will be released online on the scheduled date.

6. Reporting to College: Candidates who receive a seat must report physically to the allotted college with original documents for verification and confirm their admission by paying the admission fee.

7. Subsequent Rounds: If the student doesn’t get a seat in the first round or wishes to upgrade, they can participate in further counselling rounds as per the official schedule, including the second round and spot admission (if seats remain vacant).
