NDA SSB Interview Process 2026
The NDA SSB Interview Process 2026 is a 5-day assessment. It measures candidates’ intelligence, personality, and officer-like qualities. The exact schedule and test instructions should be confirmed through the official call-up letter.
Day 0: Reporting at the SSB Centre
Candidates report to the allotted SSB centre on the date and time mentioned in the call-up letter. The reporting process includes initial checks and instructions for the assessment.
Day 1: Screening Tests
The first stage includes the Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) test and the Picture Perception and Description Test (PP&DT). In the picture test, candidates interpret an image, write a story, and take part in a group discussion or narration. Those who do not clear screening are released from the process.
Day 2: Psychological Tests
Candidates who clear screening take psychological tests. These may include the Thematic Apperception Test (TAT), Word Association Test (WAT), Situation Reaction Test (SRT), and Self-Description Test (SD). These exercises assess responses, thought patterns, and personality traits.
Days 3 and 4: Group Testing and Interview
Group Testing Officer (GTO) tasks may include group discussions, planning exercises, progressive group tasks, half-group tasks, individual obstacles, lecturettes and command tasks. The personal interview may take place during this period. Questions can cover family background, education, interests, current affairs, and defence awareness.
Day 5: Conference and Result
The final day generally includes the conference, where assessors discuss the candidate’s performance. The board then communicates the outcome according to its procedure. Clearing the SSB does not remove the requirement to meet medical and other selection conditions.
