IIT DELHI Admission Process 2025

The IIT Delhi's application process is available online. Each academic program has its own set of application procedures, and candidates must meet the necessary eligibility requirements before applying. Below is a breakdown of the application process for various courses.

For B.Tech Programs:

JEE Main and JEE Advanced:

• Applicants have to first appear for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main.
• Those who qualify in JEE Main can then appear for JEE Advanced.
• Admission is based on the JEE Advanced rank.
• JoSAA Counselling: Seat allocation is done through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling.

For M.Tech Programs:

• GATE: Candidates must have a valid Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) score.
• COAP Counselling: Seat allocation is done through the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) counselling. Also, in some cases, IIT Delhi may conduct written tests or interviews.

For MSc Programs:

• IIT JAM: Candidates must have a valid Joint Admission Test for Masters (IIT JAM) score.
• CCMN Counselling: Seat allocation is done through the Centralized Counselling for MSc/MTech (CCMN).
• MSc/MTech (CCMN).

For MBA Programs:

• CAT (Common Admission Test): Candidates must appear for CAT, conducted by the IIMs. A valid CAT score is mandatory for applying to the MBA at IIT Delhi’s Department of Management Studies (DMS).

• Shortlisting and Final Selection: Based on CAT scores, candidates are shortlisted for the next round, which includes the Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI).

General Admission Steps:

• Application Process: Candidates must register for the respective entrance exams (JEE Main, JEE Advanced, GATE, IIT JAM). Candidates must ensure they meet the eligibility criteria for the desired program.
• Selection Rounds: Based on entrance exam scores, candidates participate in counseling (JoSAA, COAP, CCMN).
• Cutoff and Merit List: Counselling bodies release cutoffs, and merit lists are generated for admission confirmation.
• Counseling and Seat Allotment: Shortlisted candidates pay the admission fee to secure their seats.
