Master of Statistics or (M Stat) graduates salary in India depends on the position, experience and the industry. The average salary of a starting-level statistician is around INR 1.7 to 4 lakh per year and an experienced statistician with at least 5 or more years of experience may earn INR 5.2 lakh or more. Some of the specialized roles, including Biostatistician and Data Scientist, have higher compensation, which can be INR 14-15 lakh annually in the best companies. Major employers are the private companies, government agencies, think tanks, and research institutions, whereas activities such as Statistician, Data Analyst, Risk Analyst and Business Analyst are widespread.

 

Large metropolitan cities have higher wages depending upon their cost of living and on demand.
