AEEE Eligibility Criteria 2027: Age Limit, Marks, Qualification, Registration Date and Fee

AEEE eligibility criteria 2027 requires candidates to pass or appear in Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM). Amrita University has announced in October 2026 that the AEEE entrance exam will be held from April 15 to May 7, 2027. AEEE registration 2027 will begin through online mode in November 2026 at aeee.amrita.edu. AEEE application fee 2027 is INR 1,300. The computer based AEEE exam has 100 multiple choice questions for 300 marks in 150 minutes. Students who clears AEEE Exam 2027 will be able to get a seat across eight Amrita engineering campuses through the Centralised Seat Allotment Process (CSAP) in May and June 2027. Candidates who have a JEE Main 2027 percentile can also apply for AEEE 2027.

AEEE Eligibility 2027 (Breakdown)

To apply for AEEE 2027, candidates must meet the eligibility criteria prescribed by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham. There are several requirements that cover educational qualifications, minimum marks, age and accepted qualifying examinations.

1. Educational Qualification

• Candidates must have passed Class 12 in 2026 or be appearing for Class 12 or an equivalent examination in 2027.
• Candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) as their qualifying subjects.
• Candidates must secure a minimum aggregate of 55% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics combined, with at least 50% marks in each subject individually, as per the currently published eligibility criteria.
• Candidates awaiting their Class 12 results are also eligible to apply, provided they meet the required marks criteria and submit the necessary mark sheets and certificates at the time of admission and counselling.

2. Accepted Qualifying Examinations

Candidates from the following educational boards and examination systems are eligible to apply, subject to the prescribed marks requirements:

• CBSE, CISCE and State Boards: Class 12 examinations conducted by recognised Central or State Boards.
• Intermediate or Pre University Examination: Two year Pre University or Intermediate examination conducted by a recognised board or university.
• GCE Advanced Level: General Certificate of Education (GCE) examinations conducted by London, Cambridge or Sri Lanka at the Advanced (A) level.
• Cambridge or IB Diploma: High School Certificate examinations from Cambridge University or the International Baccalaureate Diploma.
• NIOS Senior Secondary: Class 12 or Senior Secondary qualifications from the National Institute of Open Schooling are also eligible to apply for AEEE 2027. Such students can apply with a minimum of five subjects recognised by the Central Board.

3. Age Limit

Candidates must satisfy the age and date of birth requirements specified in the official AEEE 2027 admission guidelines. The latest published eligibility details list July 1, 2005, as the date of birth cutoff.

4. Admission Through JEE Main 2027

Candidates can also apply for B.Tech admission at Amrita University through their JEE Main 2027 percentile score. Students can also apply through both AEEE and JEE Main, giving them alternative routes to participate in the Centralised Seat Allotment Process (CSAP).

5. Diploma Holders

Candidates seeking direct admission to the second year of a B.Tech programme through lateral entry are not eligible for this route, as Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham does not offer lateral entry for its B.Tech programmes.

Is There Any AEEE Eligibility Relaxation for OBC, SC and ST Candidates?

AEEE eligibility for OBC candidates is the same as for general candidates which is 55% aggregate in PCM and 50% in each subject. Amrita University’s official criteria published one common marks requirement. Students need to note that there is no separate relaxation for OBC, SC, ST or EWS candidates. Scholarship seats at Amrita University are awarded on AEEE rank or JEE Main percentile alone.
