CMAT Exam Centres 2026 FAQs
How do candidates select an exam centre for CMAT 2026?
Candidates need to select up to four preferred cities as exam centres while filling out the online CMAT 2026 application form. Candidates should choose their preferences carefully because the centre is allotted based on availability. After submission, candidates can only change choices during the correction window. Centres are allotted mostly as per the first preference, depending on seat availability and administrative feasibility. Once allotted, the centre cannot be changed.
Can candidates change the CMAT exam centre after submitting the form?
No, candidates cannot change the exam centre after the final submission of the application form. However, if candidates made a mistake while filling the exam centre choice, they can change it only during the official correction window announced by NTA. Once this correction period is over and the admit card is issued, no requests for centre changes are accepted.
What documents must candidates carry to the CMAT exam centre?
Candidates must carry a printed copy of their CMAT 2026 admit card and an original photo identity proof like an Aadhar card, PAN card, or passport. It is also recommended to bring two recent passport-size photographs. Only physical copies are accepted, and no candidate can enter the exam centre without these documents. Candidates should check their admit card for any specific instructions and ensure these are followed for a smooth experience.
What is the reporting time for CMAT exam centres?
Candidates must reach the CMAT exam centre at the reporting time mentioned in the admit card. Usually, for morning shifts, candidates should arrive by 8:00 AM, and for the afternoon shift, by 1:30 PM. Gates close after the reporting deadline, and late entry is strictly not allowed. Reaching on time is important to complete identity verification and security formalities before the exam starts.
Can candidates leave the exam centre before the test is over?
No, candidates are not allowed to leave the examination hall or centre before the CMAT exam concludes, even if they finish early. Candidates must remain seated quietly until the invigilators announce the end of the exam. Leaving the centre early is not permitted and can lead to strict action. Candidates should plan their return journey accordingly and remain at the centre for the full exam duration.
What items are prohibited at the CMAT exam centre?
Electronic items like mobile phones, calculators, smart watches, pagers, and any digital devices are strictly banned. Candidates cannot bring bags, books, notebooks, notes, or any study material. Jewellery made of metal, jackets, caps, and shoes with thick soles are also not allowed. Only essential documents, pens, and, in case of diabetic candidates, simple fruits are permitted at the exam centre.
What should candidates do if the details on their admit card are incorrect?
If candidates notice any errors in the admit card details, they should immediately contact the NTA helpline or email the official support provided in the exam notification. Corrections may be possible during the correction window. After downloading the admit card, candidates must check their name, photograph, date of birth, exam date, and centre address carefully for accuracy before the exam day.
What is mentioned in the CMAT admit card regarding the centre?
The CMAT admit card contains the complete address of the allotted exam centre, including the date, reporting time, and exam slot. It also includes important instructions for exam day, such as items to bring, entry guidelines, and prohibited items. Candidates must read all instructions thoroughly and follow them strictly on the exam day to avoid disqualification or delays.
Can candidates choose any city as their exam centre?
Candidates can select up to four cities from the official list of available CMAT exam centres in India. The list is given during the application process. Allotment depends on availability, so it's advised to choose preferred cities in order of priority. Sometimes, a nearby city may be allotted if the preferred city is full due to administrative reasons.
Are exam centres available in all states and cities?
CMAT exam centres are available in major cities of all states and union territories across India. The test is conducted in over 100 cities, ensuring candidates from different regions have access to a nearby centre. The full list of centres is provided in the official notification and during the application. Candidates must check the list and choose cities that are convenient and accessible for them.
What facilities are available for differently-abled candidates at the centre?
Centres are equipped with basic amenities and are made accessible for differently-abled candidates. Arrangements like wheelchair support and separate seats are provided. Candidates who need additional assistance or scribe support must mention it during registration and carry the necessary supporting documents on exam day to avail these facilities.
Can candidates bring water or snacks to the exam centre?
Generally, candidates are not allowed to bring any food or drinks inside the exam centre. However, candidates who are diabetic can carry plain fruits and a transparent bottle of water, subject to approval by centre staff. All food items are checked at the entry point, so candidates should avoid bringing unnecessary items to avoid inconvenience.
How can candidates check the location of their exam centre?
The full address and Google map link (if available) of the allotted CMAT exam centre are provided on the admit card. Candidates are advised to visit the exam centre a day before the actual exam to avoid confusion and delays. Locating the centre in advance helps plan travel time and identify entry points, especially if the venue is in a new area or a large campus.
What happens if candidates forget their admit card or ID at home?
Candidates who forget to bring their admit card or original ID proof will not be allowed to enter the exam centre under any circumstances. It is compulsory to have both documents for verification before entering the exam hall. Candidates must arrange all required items the night before the exam to avoid last-minute stress or disqualification on exam day.
Are there any rules for rough work at the exam centre?
Yes, candidates will be provided with a rough sheet at their exam desk. Candidates must write their name and roll number on it and use it only for calculations related to the exam. After finishing the test, candidates must hand over the used rough sheets to the invigilator before leaving the exam hall. Candidates are not allowed to take the rough sheet outside the exam venue.
