CMAT Application Process 2026: Dates

The notification for the CMAT Application Form is expected to be released in the first week of November 2025, and the registration process will start by the second week of the month. Refer to the table below to find the tentative dates for the CMAT Application Process 2026.

CMAT Application Process 2026: Steps To Register

The entire CMAT 2026 application will be conducted online. Before starting the registration process, candidates must have a valid email address and mobile number. They should note that only one application per student will be accepted by NTA. The steps of CMAT Registration are as follows:

 

Part 1: Registration

  • Candidates must access exams.nta.ac.in/CMAT/.
  • Fill in some basic information to generate an application number.
  • Candidates must enter their name, mother’s name, father’s name in Capital letters, Date of Birth, Mobile number, and e-mail address.

Part 2: Fill in the complete application forms

  • Enter educational details
  • Provide category details
  • Put the complete postal address with PIN Code.
  • At this stage, candidates must select up to four cities for their examination centres.

Part 3: Uploading scanned images

  • Candidates have to upload a passport-size photograph and signature in the prescribed format.
  • Candidates’ PwD certificates are required (if applicable)

Part 4: Payment of fees

  • After carefully reviewing all the entered information, candidates must pay the fees using SBI Gateway through Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, or UPI and retain proof of payment.

 

CMAT 2026 Application Fees

CMAT Application Fees vary category-wise. General male candidates must pay INR 2500, while the registration fee for General Female, Gen-EWS/SC/ST/PwD/OBC-(NCL), and third-gender candidates is INR 1250.

Prescribed Format Of Scanned Photo And Signature

When uploading the signature and photograph, candidates must adhere to the prescribed format. These are as follows:

  • Polaroid and Computer-generated photos are not accepted.

  • The candidates are required to upload the full signature in running handwriting in the box given in the Online Application Form.
  • Signatures in capital letters are not accepted.

CMAT Eligibility Criteria 2026

Before registering for the CMAT 2026 Exam, candidates must check the CMAT Eligibility Criteria 2026. NTA allows all candidates with a Bachelor’s degree to appear for the exam. The criteria are detailed as follows:

  • Education: Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline. Candidates appearing for the final year of a Bachelor’s Degree and whose results will be declared before the 2026-2027 academic session are also eligible to apply. Candidates should ensure that their degrees are approved by AICTE. If it is found that the degree is not recognised, the candidature will be rejected.
  • Minimum score: There is no minimum score percentage criteria to appear for the CMAT 2026 Exam. However, to secure admission in MBA colleges, Candidates from the Unreserved and reserved categories must obtain 55% and 50% aggregate marks, respectively.
  • Age Limit: There is no age restriction for appearing in the CMAT 2026 Exam.
  • Nationality: The candidates must be Indian citizens.

At the time of the CMAT Registration Process, candidates must keep the following documents ready:

  • Class 10th marksheet
  • Class 12th marksheet
  • Graduation marksheet
  • A valid Government ID proof. Govt Identity Details like Aadhaar Number (last four digits)/Election Card (EPIC No.)/Passport number/Ration Card Number/ Bank Account Number/PAN Number/ Other valid Govt IDs.
  • Caste certificate (if applicable)
  • PwD certificate with a file size between 50 kb and 300kb (if applicable)
  • Signature of the candidate on a white paper
  • 6-8 recent passport-size photos, preferably against a white background
  • Debit/credit card or net banking payment details
  • A valid email ID and Mobile number

The CMAT Application Form Correction Window will be active once the registration process is over. Candidates are advised to carefully complete all fields during the registration process accurately. The application cannot be modified or edited once the correction window is closed. The steps to edit the CMAT Application Form 2026 are as follows:

  • Open exams.nta.ac.in/CMAT/
  • Click on the ‘Form Correction for CMAT 2026’ tab
  • Enter application number, password, and security pin
  • Click on 'edit application form'
  • Upload new documents or make changes as required
  • Click on 'submit' after carefully reviewing all the details

 

CMAT Application Process 2026: Important Points

During the CMAT Application Process 2026, candidates must follow some crucial instructions to avoid rejection of their candidature. These instructions are as follows:

  • The Candidates should fill in their complete postal address with PIN Code as given on their government-issued ID proof.
  • The candidate must ensure that the email address and Mobile Number are their own, as these cannot be changed later.
  • No changes will be accepted by NTA through offline modes, i.e., via fax, application, email, etc.
  • An online application cannot be withdrawn once it is filled out, and the fees are non-refundable.
  • The candidate should carefully choose the test cities, as no change will be allowed once the application is submitted.
  • If any information about candidates is proven to be false at any time, the candidates will face penal actions.
  • Candidates are not required to send any confirmation page to NTA.
