JEE Main Application Process 2026

Applications for the JEE Main exam are made through the NTA dedicated website. NTA has stopped allowing students to choose their preferred exam cities from 2026-27. The exam centres will be allotted based on the address mentioned in the candidate’s Aadhaar card. Candidates will be required to upload the necessary documents online with the form. A registration fee also needs to be paid before submitting the application. The step-by-step process to register for JEE Main is as follows:

 

Step 1: Visit the main NTA JEE Main website: jeemain.nta.nic.in

 

Step 2: Click on the “Registration for JEE Main Session 1” link on the main page.

 

Step 3: On the next page, click on the “New Registration” link to create a new profile.

 

Step 4: Enter an active email ID and phone number to register and log in.

 

Step 5: Fill out the application form.

 

Step 6: Upload the scanned photograph and signature in the given format.

 

Step 7: Pay the application fee and save the receipt.

 

Step 8: Save the application form and submit the application.

JEE Main Notification 2026: Exam Details

JEE Main notification provides details about the examination, including the number of papers, their patterns, and the timing of the exam. JEE Main 2026 Application Fees

JEE Main charges different registration fees for its papers and different genders. For Indian exam centres, the application fee is between INR 1,000 (paper 1) and INR 2,000 (paper combinations) for male candidates, INR 800 (paper 1) to INR 1,600 (paper combinations) for female candidates and INR 500 (paper 1) to INR 1,000 (paper combinations) for third gender candidates. JEE Main Notification 2026: Exam Centres

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has introduced revised exam city selection rules for 2026. Like the previous year, candidates will be allowed to select their preferred 4 examination cities during the application process. However, the allocation of examination cities will be strictly based on the address provided in the candidate’s Aadhaar card, as per the updated NTA guidelines.
