JEECUP Counselling 2026 Dates
The JEECUP 2026 counselling process is being conducted in multiple rounds. The first three rounds were conducted for qualified UP-state candidates, followed by special counselling rounds for candidates from Uttar Pradesh and other states.

The official JEECUP counselling schedule was revised on July 23, 2026, and the council has subsequently issued the additional counselling schedule for Rounds 6 and 7.
JEECUP Counselling 2026: Who Can Participate?
The additional counselling rounds are being conducted for candidates who:
- Appeared for UPJEE (Polytechnic) 2026 but have not been allotted an institute or course.
- Appeared for the examination but remain unadmitted.
- Are eligible unadmitted candidates from other states.
- Fulfil the eligibility conditions specified by JEECUP.
Candidates who have already secured admission should follow the instructions applicable to their existing allotment.
JEECUP Counselling 2026: Reservation
JEECUP counselling follows the reservation policy prescribed by the Government of Uttar Pradesh.
The applicable reservation depends on the candidate's category and sub-category. Candidates claiming reservation must provide valid certificates during document verification.
The previous version of this article listed fixed percentages for OBC, SC, ST, PwD, female candidates, military personnel and freedom fighters.
Recommendation: Do not retain these percentages as a static table unless they are confirmed against the latest 2026 JEECUP information brochure. The current article should instead state that reservation is applied according to the latest UP Government/JEECUP rules.
JEECUP Counselling Process 2026
JEECUP counselling is conducted online and involves registration, choice filling, seat allotment, fee payment, document verification and institute reporting.
Step 1: Counselling Registration
Eligible candidates log in to the official JEECUP counselling portal using their application credentials and complete the counselling registration process.
Step 2: Choice Filling
Candidates select their preferred polytechnic institutes and courses from the available options.
Candidates can enter multiple choices and arrange them according to their preference.
Step 3: Choice Locking
Candidates should carefully review their choices and lock them before the specified deadline.
Once choices are locked, they should not assume that changes will be possible after the deadline.
Step 4: Seat Allotment
JEECUP allots seats based on factors including:
- JEECUP rank
- Candidate category
- Sub-category
- Institute preference
- Course preference
- Seat availability
- Applicable counselling rules
Step 5: Seat Acceptance and Fee Payment
Candidates allotted seats must follow the instructions applicable to their counselling round and pay the prescribed security/counselling fee within the deadline.
Important: The additional Round 6 and Round 7 counselling does not provide a Float option. Candidates allotted seats in these rounds are required to follow the Freeze process.
Step 6: Document Verification
Candidates who are required to undergo verification must visit the designated district help centre with the required original documents and copies.
Step 7: Institute Reporting
After successful verification and fee payment, candidates must report to the allotted institute within the prescribed deadline to complete admission formalities.

JEECUP Round 6 is an additional counselling round for eligible qualified candidates who remain unadmitted.
