Assam has several established government medical colleges offering postgraduate medical education. DME Assam's state counselling covers the notified 50% State Quota PG seats in the government medical colleges.

The NMC's current medical-college database also lists newer government institutions in Assam, including Dhubri Medical College, Pragjyotishpur Medical College and other institutions. However, being an MBBS medical college does not automatically mean that an institution has PG seats available through Assam NEET PG counselling. B.B. Borooah Cancer Institute in Assam NEET PG Counselling
