NEET PG 2026 exam is scheduled to be held on August 30, 2026, and the result is expected to be declared by September 30, 2026. NEET PG Counselling 2026 is expected to begin in the first week of October 2026 for admission to MD, MS, PG Diploma, DNB and NBEMS Diploma courses across India. The counselling process will be conducted through multiple rounds, including Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 and the Stray Vacancy Round, with the counselling process expected to continue till December 2026.

  • There will be four stages in NEET PG counselling: Round 1, Round 2, Mop-Up Round, and Stray Vacancy Round.
  • The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will conduct the counselling process for the 50% All India Quota (AIQ) seats, Central Universities, Deemed Universities, AFMS, ESIC, PGIMER, JIPMER, AIIMS, and universities established by an act of Parliament.
  • The individual State Counselling Authorities are responsible for filling the remaining 50% State Quota seats in Government or Private Medical Institutions in the State Institutions (established by the State government) and Universities established by an Act of the State/ Union Territory Legislature, Society, Municipal Bodies Trust, Company, or Minority Institutions.
  • Candidates must complete Choice filling and locking before every round of counselling. Under choice locking, the final list of preferred colleges and courses submitted by the candidate will be locked.
  • The NEET PG rank, reservation category and policies, availability of seats, and preferences of the candidates are the factors that will govern seat allotment.

NEET PG Counselling 2026 is conducted through two major counselling channels: All India Quota (AIQ) Counselling conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) and State Quota Counselling conducted by the respective state counselling authorities.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) and the state authorities have laid down certain basic eligibility requirements to participate in NEET PG Counselling 2026. The requirements are slightly different for the All India Quota (AIQ), State Quota, and Deemed or Central Universities.

The NEET PG Counselling 2026 process includes registration, fee payment, choice filling, choice locking, seat allotment and reporting. Candidates must complete each stage within the specified deadline to participate in the counselling process.

Registration Register online through the MCC counselling portal using NEET PG 2026 details and personal information. Upload the required documents and pay the counselling fee and security deposit.
Choice Filling Select preferred colleges and courses such as MD, MS, DNB and PG Diploma based on eligibility, rank and preference.
Choice Locking Review and lock the selected choices before the deadline. Choices cannot be changed after locking.
Seat Allotment MCC allots seats based on NEET PG rank, category, seat availability, reservation rules and candidate preferences.

If you secure a seat in NEET PG Counselling 2026, you must visit the allotted college within the specified time with the documents specified by the MCC. First of all, download the seat allotment letter from the website. Carry all required original documents for seat allocation, verification, and admission confirmation. In total, there are about 42,700+ seats available through NEET PG counselling.

  • For government medical colleges, 50% seats are reserved under the All India Quota (AIQ) and filled by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). More than 21,000 seats are allotted to the 50% All India Quota.
  • The remaining 50% State Quota seats are filled by the respective state counselling authorities. 21,000 seats or more are under the 50% State Quota as well.
  • Deemed universities, central universities (like BHU, AMU), ESIC, and AFMS colleges are also part of the MCC counselling process and do not have domicile restrictions.
