NIFT Application Process 2026: Necessary Documents
Copies of the candidate’s documents, such as mark sheets, caste certificates, and disability certificates (if applicable), must be scanned and uploaded with their application form. The papers will also be verified on campus during counselling. The following is the full list of documents applicants must possess for NIFT 2026:
- Photograph and Signature
- Self-attested 10th class marksheet
- Self-attested Class 12th marksheet
- Proof of date of birth
- Identity proof (Aadhar card, PAN card, driver’s license, or voter’s ID)
- Caste certificate (if applicable)
- Disability certificate (if applicable)
- Self-declaration certification if the previous qualifying examination marks have not yet been declared.

All applicants applying for NIFT 2026 are required to pay an application fee of INR 2,000 for the general and OBC categories. For other categories, the application fee will range from INR 500 to INR 750, depending on the number of courses they are applying for. How to Fill Out the NIFT Application Form 2026?
The NIFT 2026 application process requires candidates to register on the official platform, fill out the form, and upload all necessary documents to the portal. An application fee is also to be paid. Students should ensure that they fulfil the NIFT Eligibility Criteria 2026 before filling out the form. Here is the step-by-step process of filling out the NIFT application form:
Step 1: Visit the official NIFT website, nift.ac.in
Step 2: Create a new registration with the candidate’s name, date of birth, an active email ID, phone number, and category details. The email ID and date of birth will be the log in credentials.
Step 3: Log in with the newly created credentials.
Step 4: Fill out the application form and click on the declaration “I agree.”
Step 5: Upload documents in the recommended format and size.
Step 6: Pay the required application fee through credit card, debit card, UPI or netbanking. Bank drafts can also be made to:

NIFT Correction Window 2026
NIFT 2026 has allowed candidates to review their applications and make corrections, if necessary. This window remained open from January 21 to 22, 2026. Candidates must log in with their email ID and date of birth on the official website to make changes to the application form. Changes can be made only to the following details:

If the application form is incomplete or incorrect, the application fee will not be refunded. The examination city is not allowed to be changed during the corrections window.
NIFT Application Process 2026: Tracking Status
NTA allows candidates to track the status of their application during the registration process. The status can be viewed upon logging into the official website with the necessary applicant credentials. There were five stages for the NIFT 2026 application process:

The NIFT 2026 application window has closed on January 19, 2026. Aspirants will be able to fill out the form till January 16, 2026 (no late fee) and January 17 to 19, 2026 (with INR 5,000 late fee). Corrections will be allowed from January 20 to 21, 2026.
