RRB JE Score Calculator 2026
Enter your correct and wrong answers for each subject, then pick your category. The calculator applies RRB's one-third negative marking and tells you whether your raw score is above the minimum qualifying marks.
| Subject | Correct | Wrong | Score |
| Mathematics (30 Qs) | 0 | ||
| General Intelligence & Reasoning (25 Qs) | 0 | ||
| General Awareness (15 Qs) | 0 | ||
| General Science (30 Qs) | 0 |
This is a raw score. RRB normalises marks across shifts, and shortlisting for CBT 2 is based on merit, which is usually well above the minimum qualifying marks.
RRB JE Marking Scheme
| Response | Marks |
| Correct answer | +1 |
| Wrong answer | −1/3 |
| Not attempted | 0 |
RRB JE CBT 1 score = correct answers − (wrong answers ÷ 3)
Three wrong answers cancel out one correct answer. Because the penalty is a third of a mark, raw scores often have decimals such as 61.67.

RRB JE Minimum Qualifying Marks
To be considered for CBT 2, candidates must reach these minimum percentages in CBT 1. Since CBT 1 is out of 100, the percentage equals the marks.
| Category | Minimum qualifying marks |
| UR and EWS | 40 |
| OBC-NCL and SC | 30 |
| ST | 25 |
Relaxable by 2% for PwBD candidates in case of a shortage against reserved vacancies.
Qualifying is not the same as being shortlisted. RRB shortlists candidates for CBT 2 on merit, at several times the number of vacancies in each category, so the actual cut-off is normally much higher than the minimum. See RRB JE cut-off for previous figures.
Raw Score vs Normalised Score
RRB JE CBT 1 is held over several shifts and days with different papers, so RRB normalises raw marks across shifts before preparing the merit list. Your normalised score can be slightly higher or lower than the raw score from the calculator, depending on the difficulty of your shift compared with others.
How to Calculate Your Score from the RRB JE Response Sheet
- Log in on your regional RRB website when the CEN 04/2026 answer key is released.
- Open your question paper, recorded responses and the provisional answer key.
- Count correct and wrong answers subject-wise and enter them above.
- Raise objections within the window if you believe an answer is wrong (₹50 per question in the last cycle, refundable if accepted).
- Recalculate after the final answer key.
Should You Guess in RRB JE?
With four options and a one-third penalty, a blind guess has an expected value of (1/4 × 1) − (3/4 × 1/3) = 0. Guessing blind neither helps nor hurts on average, but eliminating even one option makes a guess worthwhile: with three options left, the expected value becomes +0.11.

FAQs on RRB JE Score Calculator 2026
How do I calculate my RRB JE CBT 1 score?
Add 1 for each correct answer and subtract one-third of a mark for each wrong answer. Unattempted questions score zero.
What is the negative marking in RRB JE?
One-third of a mark is deducted for each wrong answer in CBT 1.
What are the RRB JE minimum qualifying marks?
40% for UR and EWS, 30% for OBC-NCL and SC, and 25% for ST, relaxable by 2% for PwBD candidates in case of shortage.
Does clearing the qualifying marks mean I will be shortlisted for CBT 2?
No. Shortlisting is on merit against vacancies, and the actual cut-off is usually much higher than the minimum.
When will the RRB JE answer key 2026 be released?
RRB has not announced a date. Based on the last cycle, it is expected around 10 November 2026.
