SBI Clerk Cutoff 2025: Year-Wise Cutoff Trends, How to Check

• Updated on 15 Sept, 2025 by Kollegeapply

SBI Clerk Cutoff 2025: SBI releases separate cutoff marks for SBI Clerk Prelims and Mains exams, which vary by state and category. These cutoffs depend on the number of vacancies, candidates, and exam difficulty. Knowing past cutoff scores helps candidates set preparation goals based on their state and category.

In 2024, the Prelims cutoff ranged from around 37 marks (Manipur) to 72 marks (Karnataka) out of 100. Maharashtra had a cutoff of around 45, and Odisha had a cutoff of about 64. In the Mains exam (out of 200), Karnataka’s cutoff was as high as 93, Tamil Nadu's 89, and Maharashtra's 86.5.

In 2023, the Prelims general category cutoffs went up to 80 (West Bengal), with many states ranging from 40 to 70 marks. Mains cutoffs were mostly between 70 and 86, with Maharashtra and West Bengal near the top.

To get to the next round, candidates must meet or beat the Prelims cutoff. SBI only considers the overall total score, not sectional cutoffs.

What is SBI Clerk Cutoff?

SBI Clerk cut off refers to the minimum marks that a candidate must obtain to qualify for each stage of the recruitment process. Candidates who meet or exceed this benchmark are shortlisted for the next round. Unlike other exams, SBI Clerk does not have sectional cutoffs; instead, only the overall score is considered for shortlisting.

SBI Clerk Prelims Cutoff 2025

The preliminary exam has three sections: English Language, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability, with a total of 100 marks. Based on the initial results and cutoff, SBI shortlists candidates for the mains round, generally at a ratio of 10 times the available vacancies.

SBI Clerk Mains Cutoff 2025

The mains exam consists of four sections – General/Financial Awareness, General English, Quantitative Aptitude, and a combined Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude section. The test carries 200 marks in total.

  • The mains cutoff is determined by the marks scored by the last provisionally selected candidate.
  • Candidates must secure the minimum aggregate marks set by the bank.
  • A relaxation of 5% is given to SC, ST, OBC, PWD, and Ex-Servicemen categories.
  • The final merit list is prepared based on state-wise and category-wise marks.
