SRMJEEE Eligibility Criteria 2027 (Highlights)
SRMJEEE 2027 is the SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Examination that SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) will conduct for B.Tech admission at its campuses across India. Candidates should take all of the information written below, to prepare themselves earlier for the examination with all of the prerequisites before the SRMJEEE registration 2027:
SRMJEEE Eligibility Criteria 2027(Detailed)
SRMJEEE eligibility criteria 2027 consist of the nationality, age, subject and marks conditions that SRMIST sets for B.Tech admission. Every condition below must be met before a candidate can claim a seat in counselling. The rules of eligibility criteria are based on the SRMIST rules which have been stated for all the cycles of SRMJEEE 2027:
Nationality
SRMJEEE 2027 is open to all of the residing Indian candidates. Non Resident Indians (NRIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) cardholders are required to apply under the International Students category through the separate SRMIST international application form. An Indian candidate who studied abroad must apply "Indian" as nationality and add the overseas educational details in the form.
Age Limit
A candidate must be at least 16 years and 6 months old on 31 July of the year in which the Class 12 board exam is held. For SRMJEEE 2027, that means the date of birth must fall on or before 31 January 2011. SRMIST counts age on 31 July, not on the application date or the exam date, which is the most common reason applicants misjudge their eligibility. SRMIST also allows a maximum gap of three years after Class 12.
NIOS Candidates
A candidate who completes Class 12 through NIOS must have completed Class 10 from a regular school, otherwise, he/she will not be eligible to appear in SRMJEEE exam 2027. A candidate who did both Class 10 and Class 12 through open schooling is not eligible. This single rule disqualifies more NIOS applicants than any other condition.
Educational Qualification
Candidates should have passed Class 12 (10+2) or be appearing in it in 2027 with a minimum of 60% aggregate across three subjects. Physics and Mathematics are mandatory. The third subject can be any one of Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Computer Science, Information Technology, Informatics Practices, Engineering Graphics, or Botany and Zoology. The qualifying exam must be from a recognised board in India, such as CBSE, CISCE, a State Board, IB or NIOS.
Programme Wise Eligibility
Note: Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) and Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) or Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) cardholders are also eligible to apply, but they must submit their applications under the category of āInternational Students.ā
SRMJEEE 2027(Important Documents)
To claim eligibility, the candidates need to present the following documents at the time of application:
- Any valid, government-issued ID proof, such as Aadhar, voter ID and passport, is required for SRMJEEE 2027.
- 10th and 12th Mark sheet and Certificate.
- Recent passport-size photographs, as per the application requirements, should be submitted along with the application.
*NIOS students are required to produce a certificate for passing the 10th standard from a regular school.
SRMJEEE Eligibility Criteria 2027( Common Mistakes )
- Age Limit Confusion: Many candidates mistakenly focus on their age at the time of application rather than on the exam date. To be eligible, candidates must be 16 years and 6 months old on the 31st July of the calendar year in which the 12th Board examination is to be held.
- Confusion in Subject Requirements: Candidates willing to apply for B.Tech programs must have studied Physics and Mathematics in their Class 12th. On the other hand, applicants applying for programs like Bioengineering must have studied Biology along with Physics and Chemistry. A common misconception among students is that they think that, without Mathematics, they can still apply for engineering courses without fulfilling the additional subject requirement.
- Confusion Regarding NIOS Eligibility: Students from the National Institute of Open Schooling often misunderstand the condition that they must have completed their 10th standard from regular schooling or vice versa. This specific eligibility criterion is often overlooked, leading to ineligibility.
