SSC CGL Tier 1 Score Calculator 2026
Enter correct and wrong answers for each of the four sections and choose your category. The calculator shows your raw marks, the minimum qualifying marks for your category and the 2025 Tier 1 cut-off for most posts, so you can see where you stand.

| General Awareness (25 Qs) | 0 | ||
| Quantitative Aptitude (25 Qs) | 0 | ||

Raw marks only. SSC prepares the result on normalised marks across shifts, and the 2026 cut-off will depend on this year's paper and vacancies.
SSC CGL Tier 1 Marking Scheme
| Response | Marks |
| Correct answer | +2 |
| Wrong answer | −0.5 |
| Not attempted | 0 |
SSC CGL Tier 1 score = (correct × 2) − (wrong × 0.5)
Four wrong answers cancel out one correct answer. With four options per question, a blind guess has an expected value of (1/4 × 2) − (3/4 × 0.5) = +0.125, so eliminating even one option makes a guess clearly worthwhile.
SSC CGL Score Calculation: Worked Example
| Section | Correct | Wrong | Marks |
| General Intelligence & Reasoning | 20 | 4 | 40 − 2.0 = 38.0 |
| General Awareness | 15 | 6 | 30 − 3.0 = 27.0 |
| Quantitative Aptitude | 18 | 4 | 36 − 2.0 = 34.0 |
| English Comprehension | 17 | 4 | 34 − 2.0 = 32.0 |
| Total | 70 | 18 | 131.0 / 200 |
For a UR candidate, 131 is above the minimum of 60 but below the 2025 cut-off of 136.40 for most posts. For an SC candidate, it is above the 2025 SC cut-off of 115.03.
SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Pattern
| Section | Questions | Marks |
| General Intelligence & Reasoning | 25 | 50 |
| General Awareness | 25 | 50 |
| Quantitative Aptitude | 25 | 50 |
| English Comprehension | 25 | 50 |
| Total | 100 | 200 |
60 minutes (80 minutes for eligible candidates using a scribe).
Compare Your Score: Minimum Marks and 2025 Cut-Off
SSC applies minimum qualifying marks first, then shortlists for Tier 2 on merit. The 2025 Tier 1 cut-off for most posts gives a realistic benchmark; cut-offs for Junior Statistical Officer and Statistical Investigator Grade-II were higher.
| Category | Minimum qualifying marks | 2025 Tier 1 cut-off (all other posts) |
| UR | 60 (30%) | 136.40 |
| OBC | 50 (25%) | 130.37 |
| EWS | 50 (25%) | 127.42 |
| SC | 40 (20%) | 115.03 |
| ST | 40 (20%) | 106.39 |
2025 cut-offs are normalised marks out of 200. The 2026 cut-off will be released with the Tier 1 result. For expected 2026 ranges, see the SSC CGL answer key and expected cut-off article.
Raw Score vs Normalised Score
SSC CGL Tier 1 was held over a month in many shifts. SSC normalises scores so that candidates in tougher shifts are not disadvantaged, and the result and cut-off are based on normalised marks. Your normalised score can be a little higher or lower than your raw score, depending on your shift's difficulty compared with others.
