MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) is an undergraduate program in medicine. It is a 5.5-year program, including a 1-year compulsory internship. The admission into MBBS admissions in India is based on national-level medical examination, i.e., NEET-UG, followed by state counseling.

 

The MBBS admission in Bihar is conducted by the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB). The candidates are evaluated based on their NEET-UG scores and the counseling done by BCECEB. Bihar MBBS Admission Eligibility Criteria

The candidates interested in applying for MBBS admission in Bihar should fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

  • The candidates should have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology from a recognized board.
  • They should have a minimum aggregate of 50% marks (40% for ST/ SC/ OBC and 45% for PwD).
  • The candidates should have attained the age of 17 years at the time of admission.
  • The candidates should be a resident of Bihar.
  • They should have qualified NEET-UG.

Bihar MBBS Admission Process

The MBBS admission in Bihar will be conducted by the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB), through NEET-UG scores. The admission for all the government and private medical colleges is the same. Let’s understand the admission process.

 

NEET-UG Exam - Candidates interested in MBBS admission should register for NEET-UG and appear for the entrance examination. The candidate should qualify by scoring above the minimum cutoff.

 

Counselling Registration - The Bihar state candidates who have been qualified in NEET-UG will be required to visit the official website of Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) at https://bceceboard.bihar.gov.in. They will be required to register for UGMAC (Undergraduate Medical Admission Counselling), by submitting all the details, uploading the necessary documents, and submitting the registration fees of INR 1,200.

 

Rank List - BCECEB will publish the state rank list of candidates who have registered on the official website of BCECEB.

 

Choice Filling - The candidates will be given the option to select the medical course and the medical college based on their rank. The candidates will be required to submit their preferences within the specified date.

 

Allotment List - The initial allotment list will be made available on the basis of the state rank, college choice, category, and availability of seats. The allotment lists will be published up to the time until all the seats are filled.

 

Reporting - The candidates who are allotted a seat will need to report to the institute allotted to them for document verification and for completing the admission formalities.
