Tripura MBBS Admissions

Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) is a professional undergraduate degree course which develops eligible medics in the study of medicine. The normative course lasts 5.5 years (which includes 1 year of obligatory rotating internship) and involves intensive theory and practice education.

In Tripura, the MBBS admission is based on NEET-UG, which is the countrywide clinical admission test. The state level entrance exam does not exist. The NEET scores are relied upon to take Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC), Kunjaban, and any MBBS seat within the state quota provided.

Eligible NEET -qualified candidates are counselled for the state quota in the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Government of Tripura. The admission method is transparent, and merit-based allocation of seats for students who meet domicile and reservation criteria.

Tripura MBBS Admissions Eligibility Criteria

Students who desire to pursue MBBS at Tripura will be required to meet some course eligibility criteria:

• The applicants should have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Bio as the core subject along with English having obtained their certification/degree/mark sheet from a reputable board.
• They have to have obtained at least 50 per cent combined points in PCB (40 per cent in case of SC/ST/OBC applicants).
• They should have obtained NEET-UG qualified on the minimum qualifying percentile (50 th percentile in General/EWS; 40 th percentile in SC/ST/OBC; 45 th percentile in PwD in unreserved).
• The candidate must be at least 17 years old by 31 December of the year of admission.
• In the case of state quota, a candidate should have a valid domicile certificate of Tripura.

Tripura MBBS Admissions Entrance Exam

Tripura does not administer its state-owned entrance exam in MBBS. There is only one entrance exam needed which is the national level entrance exam (NEET-UG):

Admission Process for MBBS in Tripura

The above is an organized procedure followed in most of the medical admissions in Tripura including Agartala Government Medical College:

Step-1: Enroll in NEET-UG on the official NTA portal and write the exam on the allocated date. Once the results are announced, log in to the DME Tripura counselling site with the NEET score and personal information.

Step-2: Upload relevant documents provided as NEET scorecard, marksheets, domicile, category certificate, and photos.

Step-3: The prescribed counselling registration fee should be paid online through the specific portal. Then wait until the release of the state merit list based on NEET scores.

Step-4: Login and choose Agartala Government Medical College (or other colleges open) according to preference. Wait until results of seat allotment according to merit ranking, reservation and choices to be filled are available.

Step-5: If you are selected then download the seat allotment letter and physically report to AGMC to verify documents. Confirm your seat by paying the tuition fees and the admission fees that the college prescribes.

Step-6: Take a medical check in the college and begin attending classes according to the academic schedule.
