What Does CUET Scorecard 2026 Contain?

The scorecard of CUET has two types of scores, and universities use only one of them. The details are provided below for students’ reference:

• Raw Marks (per subject): The actual score based on how students answered in the exam: +5 for each correct answer, -1 for each wrong answer. Each subject is out of 250 marks maximum (50 questions × 5 marks). This is what they calculate if they manually check their answers against the final CUET 2026 Answer Key.
• NTA Score (per subject): This is the normalised percentile score. NTA converts students' raw marks to a percentile using the equi-percentile method, comparing their performance to everyone who sat the same subject in their session.

CUET 2026 Result Re-Evaluation: What You Can and Can't Do

NTA does not accept re-evaluation requests after results are declared. The computer-based test system does not allow for manual re-checking of answers.

• What you can do — before results: Challenge the provisional answer key. This is the only window to dispute incorrect answers. The objection window opens after the provisional answer key is released (expected mid-June 2026). Cost: INR 200 per question challenged. If the objection is accepted, the marks are revised for all candidates who answered that question.
• What you cannot do — after results: No re-evaluation, no manual rechecking, no score revision requests. If students believe their result has an error (a name typo, wrong subject code, etc.), contact the NTA helpdesk immediately at their toll-free number or email. Errors in identity details must be corrected before counselling begins.

Raw Marks vs NTA Score in CUET 2026: Why Are the Numbers Different?

Since CUET 2026 runs across 21 days and multiple shifts daily, different candidates sit on different paper sets. NTA normalises scores to ensure a student who happened to get a slightly harder shift isn't disadvantaged against someone who got an easier one.

• If a university's cutoff for BSc Economics is listed as "600+", they mean the combined NTA Scores from the relevant subject combination, not raw marks

CUET UG Result 2026: Marks vs Percentile

The actual NTA Scores depend on the performance distribution across all candidates in the session, which NTA calculates post-exam.

Note: These ranges are approximate. NTA Scores are calculated with 7 decimal places and vary by subject difficulty and candidate distribution each year.

Is There a Passing Mark in CUET 2026?

No. NTA does not publish a universal passing mark for CUET. There is no minimum score students must cross to pass; their scorecard doesn't say pass or fail.

What matters is whether the NTA Score is high enough for the specific university and program students are targeting. Each participating university sets its own minimum score requirement and releases cutoff lists after the results. An estimated score candidates need to score is provided below:

• For DU top colleges (arts/commerce): Candidates are expected to be roughly in the top 2–5% of candidates in their subjects to secure admission at the top colleges of Delhi University.
• For BHU, AU, JMI: Cutoffs are lower at universities like BHU, AU, JMI; check specific program cutoffs on those university portals.
• For private/state universities participating in CUET: Very accessible cutoffs, often 40–50% of max marks.

What to Do Immediately After CUET Result 2026?

After the results are published on the NTA CUET portal, students must follow the steps as given below:

Download multiple copies of the scorecard the same day: The NTA portal sometimes limits access after the initial result window. Students should download their scorecard, save it to Google Drive, and print two physical copies.

Note the NTA Score per subject, not raw marks: This is the number for university comparison. Hence, candidates must write down their subject-wise NTA Scores separately, as these are what admission portals ask for.

Compare against previous year cutoffs for the target universities: Check the previous years’ CUET Cutoff at the target universities. If the NTA Scores are above or near those figures, students may have a realistic shot.

Register on DU CSAS portal immediately if targeting Delhi University: DU opens its CSAS (Common Seat Allocation System) portal within days of CUET results. Aspirants must register and lock in their college and program preferences.

Track each target university's admission portal directly: There is no central CUET counselling. Each university has its own process:

Don't freeze a seat in Round 1 without checking Round 2: DU CSAS has multiple rounds. If students accept a seat in Round 1 and lock it, they may miss an upgrade in Round 2. Understand the DU CSAS "freeze/float/slide" system before making any round decision.

If the score is below the cutoffs, spot round and state universities: Universities usually release a Spot Round with remaining vacant seats at lower cutoffs. Simultaneously, check CUET-participating state and private universities; many have accessible cutoffs and strong programmes.
