JoSAA Counselling Application Process 2026 officially commenced on June 2, 2026, at 10:00 AM, following the declaration of JEE Advanced 2026 results by IIT Roorkee on June 1, 2026. The entire process runs online at josaa.nic.in, covering admission to IITs, IISc, NITs, IIITs, IIEST Shibpur, and GFTIs. IIT and IISc seats are allotted based on JEE Advanced ranks, while seats in the remaining institutes use JEE Main ranks.
JoSAA 2026 runs across six rounds. Registration and choice filling were open until June 11, 2026. JoSAA Application Process 2026: Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria before registering for JoSAA Counselling 2026. The minimum requirements vary by institute type. JoSAA Application Process 2026: Fee Structure
There is no registration fee for JoSAA Counselling 2026. JoSAA Counselling Registration Process 2026
The JoSAA 2026 Registration is the first and most important step for admission into IITs, IISc, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs through JEE Main 2026 and Advanced ranks. The process is divided into three stages: new candidate registration, login and verification, and choice filling with locking.
Step 1: New Candidate Registration
1.Visit josaa.nic.in and click on New Candidate Registration.
2.Enter the JEE Main 2026 Application Number, Date of Birth, Candidate Name, and Mother's Name.
3.Submit the details and verify the OTP sent to the registered email and mobile number.
4.Create a password and proceed to log in.
Step 2: Log in and Verify Details
1.Log in using the JEE Main 2026 Application Number and the newly created JoSAA password.
2.Verify personal details, JEE rank, and category status on the dashboard.
3.Confirm the registration after reviewing all information.
Step 3: Choice Filling and Locking
1.Select institute type (IIT, NIT, IIIT, or GFTI), institute name, and programme name from the available list.
2.Arrange choices in order of preference, with the most desired option at the top.
3.Add, remove, or rearrange choices as needed before the June 11 deadline.
4.Save choices regularly. Lock the final preference list before the deadline.
JoSAA Application Process 2026: Required Documents
Candidates do not need to upload any documents during the registration stage. Documents are required only after seat allotment, during the online reporting window. The document list differs slightly for IIT/IISc and NIT+ system candidates. All documents must be uploaded in the specified format within the allotted response window.
