NEET UG result 2026 has been released on July 16, 2026, on the official website of the NTA at neet.nta.nic.in. The scorecards and final answer key have also been made available for download on July 16, 2026, by the NTA along with the results. 11.21 lakh candidates have qualified for the NEET UG 2026 re-exam and the highest score is 715 out of 720. 19 candidates scored more than 700 marks and 1,492 candidates scored 650 marks and higher. 10,160 candidates scored 600 marks and more and 90,780 candidates scored 500 marks and more. The window for raising objections against the provisional answer key was closed on June 28, 2026.

This year’s NEET admission cycle was different from the usual schedule. The National Testing Agency (NTA) cancelled the exam conducted on May 3, 2026, and scheduled a fresh re-examination on June 21, 2026, for over 22 lakh candidates. The NEET 2026 result and merit list will be released together after the evaluation of the re-exam is completed.

• You will be able to download your NEET 2026 scorecard from the official website, neet.nta.nic.in, by logging in with your application number and date of birth/ password. It is advisable to keep the scorecard saved for future admission and counselling processes.
• The NEET 2026 result contains important details such as the candidate's name, roll number, subject-wise marks, total score out of 720, percentile, All India Rank (AIR), category rank, and qualifying status.
• The validity of the NEET result 2026 will entirely depend on whether you want to apply for an MBBS at a foreign university or at an institute located in India. If you wish to pursue MBBS within India, the NEET UG result 2026 will remain valid for the current academic session only. On the other hand, the validity of the result will increase to 3 years if you apply for MBBS courses outside India.
• As per the prescribed criteria, candidates from the General and EWS categories must secure the 50th percentile to qualify the NEET UG 2026 exam. For OBC, SC, and ST candidates, the qualifying percentile is 40th, while General-PwD candidates need to obtain the 45th percentile.
• Along with the result, NTA is expected to release the NEET 2026 cutoff marks and merit list. Candidates who meet the required cutoff will become eligible to participate in the counselling process for MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other medical programmes.
• Qualified candidates must register for counselling rounds based on their rank. Around 15% of government medical seats are filled through the All India Quota (AIQ) counselling conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee, while the remaining 85% seats are allotted through respective state counselling authorities.

NEET UG 2026 Scorecard

The NEET 2026 scorecard is the most important document required for admission and counselling registration. It contains the complete performance details of the candidate, including marks, percentile, rank, and qualifying status. You can download your NEET 2026 scorecard from the NTA official website using your application number and password.

Details Mentioned on the NEET 2026 Scorecard

The NEET 2026 scorecard contains details like the candidate's name, category, parents' names, photograph, roll number & application number (required to log in during counselling registration), Subject-wise marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany + Zoology) out of 720 (used for AIIMS or JIPMER tie-breaking rules), total marks obtained (used for shortlisting of colleges), NEET percentile score and qualifying status, All India Rank (required for AIQ counselling seat allotment under MCC), category-wise rank (used for reserved-category seat matrix), etc. among others. How to Download the NEET UG Results 2026?

You will be able to check and download your NEET UG Results 2026 only by visiting the result link provided on the official website of the NTA. Note that the only way to get access to your results is using your login credentials, i.e., your Application Number and Password. You will not be able to download your results by entering your roll numbers. Additionally, if you have given consent while filling out the online NEET UG application form 2026, it is feasible for you to access your scorecards through Digilocker. You will also be able to gain access to the scanned copy of your original OMR sheet along with your scorecard on Digilocker.

Step 1: Go to the NEET UG results 2026 official website, i.e., the official website of NTA @neet.nta.nic.in.

Step 2: Navigate through the homepage and click on the tab that says “Score Card for NEET (UG) – 2026".

Step 3: Enter your login credentials, such as the Application Number and Date of Birth (in DD/MM/YYYY format), and the security pin or Captcha Code given on the screen.

Step 4: Click on “Submit” to get redirected to your NEET UG 2026 result and scorecard.

Step 5: Verify if all the details mentioned on the scorecard, including personal information and exam marks, are accurate.

Step 6: Download the result PDF. Print at least three copies of the same for the counselling rounds to be conducted by the MCC and state counselling authorities, and other admission processes.

The NEET UG 2026 result has been made available in the form of a rank card on the official website of NTA exhibiting where you stand among all test-takers. It can be downloaded as a PDF, where your subject-wise percentiles and the total marks you will secure out of 720 will be mentioned. If you secured a higher score, your rank will also get better. However, the rank will be obtained after considering several factors like the difficulty level of the NEET UG 2026 paper, number of test-takers, overall performance of candidates, and tie-breaking criteria.

How to Predict NEET UG 2026 Marks Before Results?

Before the results are made available, you will be able to anticipate your NEET UG 2026 marks using the provisional answer key and response sheet. The NEET UG 2026 provisional answer key was released on June 25, 2026, along with the response sheet. Go to the official NTA website @neet.nta.nic.in/ and enter your Application Number and Date of Birth to download the provisional answer key for your specific question paper code and your scanned OMR sheet.

Obtain your expected NEET UG marks 2026 by comparing your OMR responses with the provisional answer key and following the NTA's official NEET marking scheme that is provided below:

• A total of 180 multiple-choice questions are asked in the NEET UG exam. The maximum marks for the exam stand at 720.
• To increase your NEET raw score, aim to secure maximum marks in Biology (Botany + Zoology), which carries the highest weightage in the exam. 90 questions are asked from this section, with the total marks being 360.
• 4 marks will be awarded for each correct answer.
• 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect response.
• No marks will be deducted for unanswered or unattempted questions.

NEET 2026 Tie Breaking Criteria

If two or more candidates secure the same NEET 2026 score, the NTA follows a tie-breaking process to decide their rank.

1. The first priority is given to the candidate with higher marks or percentile score in Biology (Botany & Zoology).
2. If the marks obtained in Biology are equal and the tie persists, Chemistry marks are compared, and the candidate with higher marks or percentile score in Chemistry will be preferred.
3. If both Biology and Chemistry marks are equal, the candidate with higher marks or percentile score in Physics will be considered.
4. If the scores are still the same, NTA checks which candidate got fewer incorrect answers compared to correct answers across all subjects. Hence, priority will be given to candidates with a lower incorrect-to-correct answer ratio in all subjects.
5. If the tie remains, the accuracy of answers is evaluated separately for Biology, followed by Chemistry, and finally Physics.
6. If all these criteria are identical, the final rank is decided through a random selection process conducted under the supervision of an independent expert committee.

NEET UG 2026 Toppers’ List

The official NEET UG 2026 toppers’ list has been released along with the NEET UG 2026 results on July 16, 2026. Therefore, the names, AIR, and percentiles of the toppers have been announced.

• 19 candidates scored above 700 out of 720.
• 1,492 candidates scored 650 and above.
• 10,160 candidates scored 600 and above.
• 90,780 candidates scored 500 and above
• The highest score is 715 out of 720 which has been obtained jointly by Aryan Gupta (Punjab) and Panshul Bansal (Haryana).
• The highest number of qualified candidates, over 1.7 lakh students are from Uttar Pradesh. 43 are from Lakshadweep.
• The top 17 ranks (above 705 marks) belong to eight States - Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana.
• 26 state toppers obtained more than 690 marks.
• Regional toppers are Dhruv Tripathi (Andaman and Nicobar Islands, 606), Fahmida Anees (Lakshadweep, 573), and Jigmet Yangchan Lamo (Ladakh, 530 marks).
• More than 93% of these top scorers appeared for NEET for the first time.
• Nearly 99% of the Re NEET UG 2026 qualifiers belonged to the 17–19 years age group.
• Out of all qualified candidates, more than 58% are women.

What is the Safe Score for NEET UG 2026?

A safe score in NEET UG 2026 refers to the marks that give a candidate a good chance of securing admission to an MBBS or BDS college. Unlike the qualifying score, which only makes you eligible to participate in counselling, a safe score improves your chances of getting a seat. The exact score depends on factors such as your category, preferred college, state quota, and the overall competition in the exam.

• For candidates in the General category, a score of 620–650+ is generally considered safe for admission to many government medical colleges.
• Those aiming for top institutions like AIIMS Delhi or leading AIIMS campuses should target 680+ marks.
• A score of 650+ is considered competitive for other top government medical colleges.
• The expected safe score varies by category due to reservation policies. General and EWS candidates may require 620–650+ marks, OBC candidates 590–630+, SC candidates 450–550+, and ST candidates 420–520+ for a good chance of securing a government MBBS seat. These ranges are indicative and may change based on the final cutoff.
