Jamia Millia Islamia Online BA Eligibility & Admission Process

Jamia Millia Islamia's Online BA eligibility is passing 12th grade from a recognised board and a valid score in CUET or JMI entrance exam.

• Working professionals are also eligible to pursue an Online BA.
• Foreign nationals can apply to the JMI Online BA through the CDOE portal.

Application process for admission to JMI Online BA has started in the month of April 2025.

The JMI entrance exam will be held tentatively at the end of the month.

• To apply for JMI Online BA, go to the admission portal and fill out the form with the required details along with the supportive documents.
• Appear in the JMI test.
• JMI-CDOE will release the cut-offs and send confirmation to shortlisted candidates.
• Upon receiving a confirmation email, applicants have to attend counselling round and confit the admission by paying the annual course fee i.e. INR 7,200.

Jamia Millia Islamia Online BA Syllabus

JMI follows UGC norms for designing the syllabus of Online BA general. It aims to offer an array of diverse subjects in an attempt to make education more relevant to the immediate environment.

Compulsory Courses 

1. Elementary Urdu (compulsory for those students who have not studied Urdu in 10th class) 2. Islamiat or Indian Religion and Culture (a student has to study any one from the following subject in part-I)

3. General English-1

4. General English-2

Optional Courses

Out of the following the student has to select one subject from Group A and two subjects from Group B. 

Group – A: Urdu, Hindi and English

Group – B: Political Science, History, Sociology, Economic and Islamic Studies

Jamia Millia Islamia Online BA Exam Pattern

Examinations for JMI Online BA include assessment through Assignments and Annual Exam for each year. Annual examination is the major component of the evaluation system and it carries 70% weightage in a final result whereas 30% will be calculated based on assignments.

• The year-end exam is conducted offline.

• Students have to fill tout he Annual Examination form and send it to the Centre for Distance and Online Education, Jamia Millia Islamia.
• At least 40% aggregate marks are required to obtain the degree.
