JEE Main 2026 Registration for Session 1 is officially ongoing. The last date to apply for JEE Main 2026 is November 27, 2025. NTA has officially updated the JEE Main 2026 Application Process to simplify the process. Two of the biggest changes include the introduction of Live Photo capture and Aadhaar/DigiLocker verification. These two changes ensure a faster and more secure registration process.
Candidates are advised to keep the following required documents ready before beginning the registration process-
- Aadhaar Card
- UDID Card (for PwD candidates)
- Category Certificate (if applicable)
This year, identity verification through Aadhaar or DigiLocker is mandatory for all aspirants. Those who chose other identity proofs must upload a scanned copy of the same during application form submission.
How to Apply for JEE Main 2026?
Candidates need to apply for JEE Main 2026 through the official website in online mode on or before November 27, 2025. Follow the steps below to register for the JEE Main 2026 exam. The steps are as given below-
Step1: Visit the Official Website
Candidates are required to visit the official website and click on the ‘New Registration’ link. Enter personal details such as name, D.O.B., email ID, and mobile number. Next, create a strong password. After successful registration, a system-generated JEE Main 2026 Application Number will be sent to candidates’ registered email and phone number.
Step 2: Fill the JEE Main 2026 Application Form
Login with the system-generated application number and password created. Fill out the application form with required details like educational qualifications, paper preference (B.E./ B.Tech, B.Arch, or B.Planning) and exam cities.
Then, applicants will also need to capture a Live Photo using their device camera or webcam by scanning a QR code on the portal.
Step 3: Upload Required Documents
After filling out the application form, candidates must upload all required documents. Those documents must be uploaded in its specified size and format as mentioned on the website. The documents required are as given below-
- A Live Photo (captured during registration)
- A recent passport-sized photograph (if required)
- Scanned Signature
- Scanned Copy of Identity Proof (for candidates who did not use Aadhaar/ DigiLocker Verification)
Step 4: Payment of Application Fee
Test takers need to pay the requisite application fee using credit/ debit card, net banking, or UPI. Once the payment is made, the system will generate a confirmation page. Check the following table for JEE Main 2026 application fees for Indian candidates and foreign candidates.
