Madhav Institute of Technology and Science, Gwalior, is one of the oldest and most well-known engineering colleges in Madhya Pradesh. It was founded in 1957 and is spread across 47 acres in Gwalior. The institute is affiliated with RGPV Bhopal but has been academically autonomous since 2002, allowing it to design its own courses. It is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation and has received an A++ grade from NAAC. The University Grants Commission has also granted it autonomy.

MITS Gwalior offers over 30 courses in engineering, architecture, planning, science, and management. In the NIRF 2023 rankings for engineering colleges, it was placed among the top 250. The most popular course at MITS Gwalior is B.Tech, and admissions are based on JEE Main scores.

MITS Gwalior offers UG, PG, and Ph.D. programs in engineering, management, and architecture. B.Tech requires JEE Main, B.Arch needs NATA, and PG courses like M.Tech, ME, MCA, and MUP require MP-PET. Ph.D. admissions require a postgraduate degree and an entrance exam.

MITS Gwalior admitted 856 students to its 4-year UG program in 2017-18, and 854 graduated in 2020-21. Among them, 455 students secured jobs with a median salary of ₹4,00,000, while 25 chose to pursue higher studies. In the 2018-19 batch, 851 students enrolled, and 901 completed their degree in 2021-22. Out of these, 687 students were placed with a median salary of ₹4,50,000, and 29 opted for further studies.

For the 2-year PG program, 14 students were admitted in 2019-20, and all graduated in 2020-21, securing placements with a median salary of ₹5,00,000.
