The ANM in Jharkhand provides a two-year diploma course that provides training to candidates in basic nursing and midwifery skills. - A candidate must have completed class 12 or the Intermediate level in the Arts or Science stream from a recognized board. She must have English as a subject.
- A candidate must possess at least 50% marks in aggregate in class 12, for the general category, whereas for the reserved categories, the relaxation will be according to government rules.
- Candidates must be medically fit.
- Students who have done their 10+2 from the National Institute of Open School are also eligible.
- For applicants in the reserved category, an upper age relaxation of 5 years would be applicable.

The ANM admission in Jharkhand is based on merit or the score secured in the entrance exams. Candidates from Jharkhand can appear for the Auxiliary Nurse Midwife exam conducted by the JCECEB board.
