BA English Honours subjects include the classical and contemporary works of literature, along with Indian and global literature, and various theories regarding literature. Students read poems, prose, drama, and fiction and gain an informed acquaintance with literary heritage, extending across the Indian classical world to European drama of the present day and post-colonial forms. The course also pays importance to creativity and writing, translation, cinema, and gender, and develops both critical and creative abilities.

Other than having a sound literary background, the program frequently includes interdisciplinary course content in political science, media studies, environmental studies, etc. It pays much attention to communicative skills, cultural sensitivity, and practical experience gained through the electives, learning languages, and practical work. The strategy enhances students about literature and equips them with a readiness that spans various career options in the education, media, publishing, public service, and creative sectors.
