Why Is NEET PG Re-Exam Being Conducted in Rajasthan?

The re-examination has been necessitated by a technical disruption at the two Sitapura centres in Jaipur. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the examination could not be completed for 2,445 candidates because of an internal power-supply issue at the test centres, with the issue attributed to the examination conducting agency, TCS Ltd.

NBEMS subsequently decided to conduct a fresh examination for the affected candidates rather than include them in the result based on an incomplete examination attempt.

This means the August 30 NEET PG examination remains valid for candidates who completed it, while the affected Rajasthan candidates will be assessed through the September 5 re-examination.

There will be 5 sections in the question paper with 36 questions in each section. A sectional time limit of 42 minutes will be given. You will not be able to access the next section until your time limit for that particular section is over. Also, when the sectional time limit is up, you will not be allowed to go back to that section and review its questions. NEET PG 2026 Answer Key

The NEET provisional answer keys are released first within a week after the exam. A short answer key challenge period is also made available to file objections against any key, after which the results are released. The NEET PG 2026 provisional answer key will be released by NBEMS within a few days after the exam is conducted on August 30, 2026. Hence, the provisional answer key can be expected to be made available on natboard.edu.in in the first week of September 2026.

An answer key challenge window will be made available for 2-5 days, through which you will be able to raise objections against the incorrect answers. However, you are required to pay a fee per question challenged (typically INR 100 per question) through online mode. The final answer key will be made available after the objections are accepted by the subject matter experts. The results will be released shortly after the final answer key is published.

Ques. Is 70,000 a Good Rank in NEET PG?

Ans. 70,000 is regarded as an average to low score in NEET PG. This score will not make you eligible for a clinical seat like Medicine, Radiology, Surgery, or Pediatrics at a government MBBS college through the All India Quota. However, you can still seek admission to private colleges or through state-quota seats in non-clinical branches like Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or Forensic Medicine. Since getting an MBBS seems difficult with this score, you can consider alternative medical courses like BDS, BAMS, or BHMS. You will be qualified for MD/ MS at the top government medical colleges only with a score under 10,000.

Ques. Is There Any Chance of Zero Percentile in NEET PG?

Ans. Yes, there is a high chance that the NEET PG qualifying percentile may be reduced to zero for the SC, ST, and OBC categories by the Union Health Ministry and the National Board of Examinations (NBE) in the last few rounds of counselling so that the seats at the medical colleges do not remain vacant. The general category cutoff may be reduced to the 7th percentile. However, no seat will be guaranteed with 0 percentile in NEET PG 2026. You will only be allowed to participate in the counselling process. Preference will always be given to candidates with higher ranks, and zero-percentile candidates will only be eligible for seats in private or deemed universities that have higher fee structures.

However, this zero percentile policy is strictly under review, and the Union Health Ministry is now planning to limit the NEET PG qualifying cutoff to the 40th percentile so that the quality of PG medical education is protected.

NEET PG Cutoff 2026

NEET PG cutoff 2026 will vary for different medical postgraduate courses like the Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Surgery (MS), and PG Diploma based on the specialty. The qualifying percentiles and admission cutoffs for these courses will also depend on the candidate’s category and the college’s reservation quota. Obtaining the NEET PG cutoff 2026 is mandatory to be considered qualified for NEET PG counselling and final admission.
