Who Can Participate in WBJEE Counselling 2026?

WBJEE conducts a combined counselling that covers two categories of eligible candidates. Both go through the same portal and the same process, but the login credentials differ.

• WBJEE 2026 rank holders log in using their WBJEE roll number and password.
• JEE Main 2026 qualified candidates who are West Bengal domiciled log in using their JEE Main application number, roll number, name, and date of birth. They are eligible for a portion of seats in government and private engineering colleges and must meet the standard eligibility criteria.

How to Fill Choices in WBJEE Counselling 2026?

Most pages tell candidates to fill choices in order of preference and lock before the deadline. That is the minimum. Here is what actually makes a difference to the outcome.

• Add as many choices as possible. WBJEE allotment is processed top-down: the system looks at the rank and tries to find the highest-ranked choice that has a seat available for the category. Students who add only 5 or 10 choices often end up with no allotment in Round 1 and have to participate in the Mop-Up Round with a weaker set of available seats.
• Add TFW-category preferences separately if candidates are eligible. TFW is a distinct category with its own seat allocation. • A practical target to aim for: a list of 30 to 50 well-researched choices gives candidates strong coverage without requiring candidates to add colleges candidates would genuinely not attend.

WBJEE Counselling 2026 Rounds

WBJEE typically conducts three rounds of counselling. Understanding who is eligible for each round helps candidates plan participation correctly.

Round 1 is open to all qualified candidates. This is the main round where most seats are filled. All registered candidates who filled and locked choices participate here.

Round 2 is an upgradation round. Candidates who were allotted and accepted their first choice in Round 1 are not eligible for upgradation in Round 2. It is for:
